Maybe we are finally growing up. Our country may be growing up - moving through adolescence toward maturity. 2016: Electors voted, formalizing Trump's 304 - 227 win. 2020: 538 electors voted, formalizing Biden's 306-232 win. CONGRESS CERTIFIES ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTE (14 VIDEOS) Acceptance is the key to sanity. Let's move forward in acceptance and request of ourselves service to the causes that matter most in our lives. Protests, riots, violence... these are different things. I have witnessed all three by a variety of people for a variety of reasons over the past year. I don't agree with some ..read more

God in the Profane & Profound

It has been said, “If you don’t find God in the profane and the profound you are missing half the story. That is a great Truth. God is in the sadness and the laughter. God is in the bitter and the sweet. There is a Divine purpose behind everything and therefore a Divine presence IN everything.” — Conversations with God, Book 1 This feels true to me. I see God everywhere. Profound and Profane. Wealth and Poverty. I see and feel God most acutely in sadness. I always have. My heart’s greatest desire is to hold the hand of sadness and walk with its willingness into the light of hope. It’s always b ..read more

By Charlie Lewin | GUEST BLOGGER Am I your biggest fear? Because you taught me to think But don’t allow me to ask You want me to share things; But then take me to task That I would be the apple in the box The one that turned sour? You wanted a bouquet, but you only got a flower… Do I disturb your sensibilities Or ruin all your plans? You keep on chasing bubbles in the wind Expecting them to land Or do I mess up your perfect vision of a perfect home Because you ordered precious diamonds but had to settle with stones. And Do i rattle All your ‘safe spaces’ where your locks and chains are bolted ..read more

Dear Human Beings, Please hear me. I don't hate any of our leaders. Although I believe one or some of them is/are categorically mentally ill. I don't say that with venom, sarcasm, or laughter behind it. I say it with concerned compassion, and experience working with mental illness. Are we so spiritually sick that we cannot recognize mental illness? What concerns me the most is that in all of the circus that is politics and humanity, moral conscience is being supplanted by 'teams' and 'competition' and 'opposing sides' and 'othering'... Which employs emotion and demonstrates a lack of critical ..read more

Like girl scouts selling cookies at the doorway of all my thoughts, He stands steady in his faceless cloak gripping a scythe He has no eyes but his presence permeates me. all. day. long. The flavors he offers are endless and most recently they bully my ambition. Colon cancer. Blood clot in the lung. Car accident. Be-ing-Black. Corona Virus, wildfire, tropical storm, suicide. My mortality leads me around like a mother holding her child's hand pulling me urgently through the crowd that is life as if we may miss a bus. I gotta make time to tell her no. I will rest. ORIGINALLY POSTED: JANUARY 15, 2017 * This one gets heavy.* If you manage to get through this entire post, I encourage you to spend some time in quiet reflection about your feelings and thoughts that result. I bring up difficult topics that we are accustomed to changing the channel about. We have a tendency to dismiss "it's not my problem", or "oh, here we go", or "I have problems too"... That's not what this is about. This is about - in the privacy of your own spirit - question yourself. See what you find. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDRQTzNzu1I He evolved before our eyes, always true to ..read more

ORIGINALLY POSTED in 2017 Why does it seem so hard to believe? Who we are as adults has near everything to do with what we were exposed to as children. Our personality is a tapestry - vines of learned behavior that had to navigate their environment to reach the sun. If I need love, and it's not readily available to meet my need, my 'vine' that seeks the sunlight of love will meander through whatever it needs to for the food of affirmation and gratification that it seeks. Distortions develop. I learn that this is how love is acquired. It is my "truth", anything else is either a lie or fantasy o ..read more
