Hi all, made a similar post in r/premed the other day asking for advice regarding my MD school list. Thought I'd come to you guys for advice on DO school list.
Stats:
cGPA: 3.67, sGPA: 3.52 (although I have not yet calculated AACOMAS GPA)
MCAT: 511 (124/129/126/132), was really bummed about this score given my practice test scores but here we are
ORM, AZ resident, 1.5 gap years
EC’s:
Clinical hours (paid): 4,500 as a scribe in multiple specialities, mostly EM/IM. Bit of a long story but I helped start a small scribe company
Research hours: started in high school, but college hours are abou ..read more

Hi guys! I am waiting to hear back from a DO school and have called them 8 weeks after my interview asking if there was any update. This is my top DO school and I would love to go there. Once I called, they told me I would receive news in the upcoming week. That upcoming week has gone by and it's been a month since I've heard back. I've also sent a letter of intent stating my interest. Would it be rude to call again and ask for an update? The May 1st deadline is coming up and I would love to have the opportunity to attend but I've heard only silence.

So I’ve been accepted to 1 DO program, and just received an email from AACOM saying you must chose one school starting May 1st. I was wondering how to select that school?
I know AMCAS has a tool but I cannot find one for AACOMAS.
Any help would be awesome, thanks guys!

Is the interview the final straw that decides an acceptance? Or is it just one of the many aspects that then get voted on ?

Hey all, I was placed on the high priority wait list for Rowan SOM after being accepted into Sam Houston a few months ago. I am weighing my options right now but I was hoping to gather more opinions. I really loved my interactions with both schools and I am going in person to see Rowan soon to help with my decision. In the meantime, I would appreciate any advice!! Thank you!
What I'm looking for:
I'd like to attend a medical school with a supportive student and admin community. My learning style is a combination of individual learning with class and practice questions. I'm interested in ortho ..read more

Ok I was just curious and went on an examplify worm hole. The platform definitely has privacy and integrity concerns I also know people who are always sick on test day and taking the makeup
From what I can see examplify has root access and just proctors the exam. But it seems that peope are doing 1/3 things.
They are hack/decrypting the .xmyz file before the exam
Running a root level program to screen record and then they can provide questions to someone else
They install a bypass patch that allows them to bypass any of the proctoring measures
This on top of the fact that examplify ha ..read more

Hey All -
Non-trad here - I graduated from Ohio State Uni in 2008 - Econ + International Business Graduate BA. Since then I've been working in tech/startups and during COVID decided to take a few pre-med classes to see how they went - and Aced almost everything save a class or two. My cum GPA is 3.0 and science GPA is 3.8-3.9 - not sure how AACOMAS will calculate it but it's close.
I took the MCAT with no prep whatsoever a few years ago and got a 487 and now hoping for 500+ (my prac FLs and studying has me around there) but probably around +/- a few pts. I will take it in about a month or so ..read more
