If you’re traveling to Helsinki in search of the best food, you need to make a reservation at Grön. This was our favorite meal of our Finland trip, and one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Every single bite delivered a flavor explosion in a way that very few meals achieve. From the tomato tartelette to the lobster beignet to the honey fudge-glazed monkfish, we wanted seconds of practically every dish. Grön currently has one Michelin star, but this restaurant strongly deserves a second. Executive chef Toni Kostian and his team are serving some of the tastiest and most interesting bit ..read more

Helsinki City Map Helsinki has all the ingredients for a good life. Perhaps Finns are most known for their sauna culture, the Moomins, or their insane coffee consumption (more than any other country in the world!), but Finland’s versatile food scene is not to be overlooked. Helsinki is home to some of the top fine dining restaurants in the Nordics, but Finland’s capital also has a plethora of delicious options for everyday eating. Sustainability is a huge focus of the chefs, and most restaurants proudly highlight the organic, local, and seasonal ingredients of the region. In general, the ci ..read more

After years of pandemic delays, Noma’s next pop-up finally took place – in Kyoto, Japan. René Redzepi and his team flew from Copenhagen to Japan for a three-month residency at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto. They transformed one of the hotel’s restaurant spaces into a zen garden-like dining room. The food was neither purely Nordic nor Japanese; the menu highlighted the ingredients of spring in Japan, with an obvious Noma thumbprint. Noma Kyoto exceeded expectations and was well worth the journey to Japan. Watch the video to see the full meal. Looking for more great spots for food and drinks in Japan ..read more

This is what a meal looks like at restaurant Locavore. When we visited Ubud in Bali, Locavore was ranked The Best Restaurant in Indonesia and no. 42 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. Chef Ray Adriansyah has created two unique menus – herbivore and locavore. Of course, we had to try them both! As the name implies, Locavore is all about using local Indonesian ingredients, and they even won an award for being the most sustainable restaurant in Asia. This summer, Locavore is closing its current venue and reopening as Locavore Next, in a new location just outside of Ubud. We can’t wait to revisit! Loo ..read more
