The Aladino Classic Elegante was presented at the PCA 2023 and debuted on the market at the end of last summer. The Elegante extended the portfolio of the Classic line, which consists of five sizes. It is a Honduran puro with tobaccos grown on farms owned by the Eiroa family: Habano seed for the wrapper, Corojo for the binder, Corojo and Habano for the filler. All sizes are sold in 20-ct boxes. E.P. Carrillo is launching two new cigars in its Perez-Carrillo Encore line, the Edición Unica and the Encore Noir, which will be mainly targeted in international markets. The Edición Unica is made with a Nicaraguan wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco in the filler. The tobacco used in these cigars has been aged for several years, with the wrapper being at least five years old and the binder and filler being at least ten years old. In a letter addressed to its customers, Intertabak AG informed them about an announcement from Habanos S.A., the sales and marketing organization for Cuban cigars. The announcement states that they will be reducing the deliveries of Cuban cigars to countries whose distribution structures are not entirely under their control.   Habanos owns 50 percent of Intertabak AG, with the Villiger and Lévy families sharing the other half. A new type of Macanudo cigar is available, called Macanudo Emissary España, and features tobacco grown in an unusual location – Spain. General Cigar Co. explains that the most important type of tobacco used in Macanudo Emissary España is grown from Cuban seeds planted near the town of Riolobos in western Spain, near the border with Portugal. The region’s rocky soil and Mediterranean climate contribute to the unique tobacco flavor. Habanos S.A. has announced that it will not participate in the Intertabac exhibition in Dortmund, Germany, which is scheduled to take place from September 19th to 21st, 2024.  Despite the many supply problems the company has faced over the year, Habanos has kept their presence at the world’s largest trade fair for tobacco products. However, now it has decided to withdraw from the trade show.
