For me, I think taking pictures is a way of cherishing this precious and very fleeting moment in the year. I hope you find their beauty inspiring and joyful. Tree branches covered in pale pink flowers and dark red leaves against a blue sky. Spindly branches reach up into a cloudy blue sky, with pink blooms and shiny red leaves waving in the breeze. Birds getting together in Victoria

Are they a COuple? On a walk last weekend, I was delighted to see a pair of bald eagles sitting right next to each other high up in a tree. Because the one on the right looked so much bigger than the one on the left, I made up some fun gossip for myself that they’re a couple (females are usually bigger than males) and that they’re getting ready for chicks. This time of year a lot of the birds have the ..read more

I always brought my knitting so I could stitch while the kids worked on their paintings or drawings and I wasn’t the only one. Every week another adult volunteer brought her project, a creamy cabled sweater that seemed impossibly intricate to me at the time. The most amazing ..read more

The truth about the day before Launch Day: I’m going to publish Squish Cardigan tomorrow and I’m mostly recovered from the overwhelming stress and anxiety I felt last weekend after the photo shoot. But of course I forgot some shots I had meant to take and started to worry about having everything knitters would want to see, which got me worrying that the pattern itself might not be perfect. I’ve invested so much into this design, so what if nobody buys it? Even worse, what if people love it and t ..read more
