Help with Flory-Huggins

So, I have an assignment where I need to use the Flory-Huggins model for a Polycaprolactone-1,4 dioxane system to find the ΔG/RT diagram and the spinodal and binodal curves (which I'm supposed to plot with Excel). Problem is, while I think I have a decent understanding of the model, I have no idea where to actually start with this. The only information that was given is the number average molecular weight, which is 65 kg/Mol. If anybody has any idea where to begin with, I'd be very thankful ? submitted by /u/BlackTrainer01 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi, anyone who ever researched or ideally worked with biopolymers (preferably chitosan due to its superior qualities)? Haven't found supporting literature on how deacetylation degree and molecular weight affects adhesive strength to bone tissue and viscoelastic properties in injectable calcium phosphate bone cements. submitted by /u/rhytmicpolarparity [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello r/materials, I'm wrapping up my MSc in Materials Engineering from a top 50 global university in Belgium, with a specialization in polymers and composites and a thesis that involves nanomaterials and ceramics. I have a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and I did an internship at 3D Systems as an R&D intern, focusing on additive manufacturing (AM). I'm actively searching for job opportunities in Benelux, Austria, Germany, and Norway, ideally in fields related to nanomaterials, R&D, and polymers and composites. I would greatly appreciate any advice on the following: Job Search Plat ..read more

Hello everyone, I’m figuring out which degree I should pursue at university and materials science at ETH Zürich came to my mind as a pretty interesting subject. Now my question is if I’m fit enough for pursuing a degree in materials science based on the following facts: -I enjoy working quantitatively and analytically -I enjoy mathematics, physics and chemistry -I work very precisely (I’m a perfectionist) -I don’t have experience doing lab work and never did “create/build” anything on my own, but I’m interested in doing the mandatory projects -I don’t know which career to pursue Thank you in ..read more
