Oh hello dear blog reader who is still around in 2023. My writing fell off a bit and was limited to blog posts about movie reviews and things I’m trying to get to rank for Google. Let’s see how it goes just blogging some other random things here and there again. After all not everything can fit in an Instagram caption.
Some of my friends have switched to Substack for their more personal blog posts. I do love seeing those come to my inbox. Even though I just zero’d out my 3000+ emails in my inbox, I saved those substacks to read. But let’s be real. My life isn’t *quite* interesting enough for m ..read more

Looking for a kid’s opinion on ‘Strange World?’ We took our 12, 9 and 4 year old to watch. Here’s their Strange World kids review.
We went to watch Disney’s 61st animated feature Strange World this Thanksgiving weekend and it was a hit! Perhaps not everyone’s favorite movie this year but everyone enjoyed it. I even felt like some of that Disney magic we’ve been missing was infused in this new film. You can read my full spoiler-free review of Strange World here. But if you want to know what my kids thought of the film, keep reading on.
In my review I talked about how excited I was about all of ..read more

Wondering if Strange World is scary for kids? This no-spoiler Strange World parent review will help you decide if it’s safe for your family.
If you’ve been watching the trailers for Strange World and wondering what the heck this movie is about, you’re not alone. In fact, I saw a whole scene from the film at D23 Expo and came out with a few laughs but no more enlightened about the movie plot. I’m just gonna say, it’s probably better to go in that way. The poster and the trailer looks a little weird, but it all makes sense once you’re into the movie, and by the end you’ll be ready to turn ..read more

Wondering if Lyle Lyle Crocodile is scary for kids? Or worth going to see in theaters? This spoiler-free Lyle Lyle Crocodile review will help you decide.
Let me just put it out there that my kids and I aren’t long time fans of the book. Perhaps we ready a story here or there way back when but it’s not one that’s near and dear to our hearts. We do however, have an animal lover in our midst who loves crocodiles. Unfortunately, as soon as he saw the trailer he claimed Lyle was an alligator, not a crocodile and he couldn’t let that go. He was still happy to go and see the movie but the family call ..read more

We are finally getting our 2nd Black Disney Princess. A black Ariel! And this time we may actually get to see her face on the screen for more than 22 minutes (Tiana, I got you!).
When I first heard Disney was doing a live action version of The Little Mermaid I let out an exasperated sigh. Another live action remake from our childhood, can we please get a new hobby? But I’ll admit, after Aladdin, they’re bringing me back around a bit. Then, today they announced Halle Bailey as Ariel.
I read the emailed press release from my phone. “After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Ha ..read more

Wondering if DC League of Super Pets is scary for kids or worth seeing theaters? This spoiler-free review will help you decide if it’ll be fun for the whole family.
DC movies are something I’ve been having a hard time getting into, but thanks to Ty, my 9-year-old superhero obsessed son, I’m giving them a try. Wonder Woman and Superman Man of Steel were fine, but I was not a fan of Justice League. I haven’t even wasted my time with Aquaman which I heard was terrible, but I did recently watch Shazam with him and was pleasantly surprised. DC League of Super Pets combines his love of superh ..read more
