I've set it up to link to my diary so it links my steps and workouts automatically. I don't actually use it for tracking calories but just as a record of what I've done that day. Why does it tell me I've burnt x calories from morning to early evening then discount them completely if I record a run? How accurate are they for tracking calories and steps anyway? Even though I don't use them it could still be useful to have a rough idea of what I burn during an average run ..read more

I broke my wrist about a month after I added strength training to my routine. I can’t do much with that arm (other than physical therapy!) but if i did an upper body workout on only one side, is that bad? Maybe I should just do core : lower body and my walks for the next month or two ..read more

Stepper - how do you track it?

So I ordered one of those viral TikTok steppers off Amazon. But I have no idea how to record this in exercise. Putting in "step" either pulls up step aerobics or stair climber. While its a work out, I don't feel like the calorie burn for these is accurate. I don't typically eat my exercise calories, they just become a buffer in case I go over 1 day. But I also don't want to track something that is way off. Thanks ..read more

Gym Etiquette - What is the worst that you seen?

I hate when people at the gym will use three different machines at once, rotating after each set. Then get mad at you for hopping on an empty machine because they are on their rotation. Pick a damn machine/bench, do your reps and move on. Then you have the one rep, walk around two laps then back to their machine for rep #2 person. You have the groupies, where 5 people will workout together on one machine for an hour. Also the 5min rest guy. Complete a rep, then rest for 5 min on their phone before starting rep #2 ..read more

Fitbit Charge 6 overestimating calories

I feel like I've been here before. I just got a fitbit charge 6 and, like all the non original fitbits before it, it's overestimating exercise calories. There's just no way in hell my tdee is 2900 with the exercise I do even if I rarely stop moving as opposed to my garmin which came in at 2400ish. My fitbit stats are correct and so is the time zone. It's on my non dominant hand and I have that as a setting too (the garmin lives on my ankle because most of my walking is indoors now while playing on my tablets or working). My meal plan is set as sedentary. It does well with counting steps. F ..read more

I would really love to have a category under fitness for folks dealing with an injury or chronic pain. I am currently dealing with a hip injury and have chronic pain elsewhere in my body. I am an avid hiker. I have ran a 1/2 marathon. I use to love yoga. But I injured my hip 5 years ago while doing aerial silks and re-injured it 6.5 months ago while hiking. I feel having gentle restorative yoga classes, walking meditation for folks who are struggling with walking, guided meditation focusing on restoring the body while restoring the mind, course on pain management without medication through m ..read more
