I have recently discovered the value of podcasts as a way to get an outlook on sharemarkets, currencies and the global economy. I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where people can share any sites offering good business podcasts. The more sources the merrier IMO.
Here are two i have found.
http://www.bloomberg.com/tvradio/podcast/
http://www.businessweek.com/mediacenter/podcasts/international/international_11_30_06.htm
The second link can also be acessed on...

Hey everyone,
I've been researching different trading apps lately, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options out there.
I'm interested in starting to invest but want to make sure I choose the right platform.
Can anyone recommend a user-friendly trading app suitable for beginners?
I'm looking for something with a straightforward interface, low fees, and a good range of investment options.
Also, any tips or advice on what to look out for when selecting a trading app would be...

Hey everyone,
I've been contemplating investing in gold lately, but I'm a bit torn on whether it's the right move for me. On one hand, gold has historically been seen as a safe-haven asset, providing a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty. Plus, it's a tangible asset that holds intrinsic value.
However, I've also heard some arguments against investing in gold, such as its lack of yield compared to other investments like stocks or bonds. There's also the consideration of storage...

Hi All
Any recommendations on brokers to trade U.S. shares from Australia. I am looking at Stake but it has mixed reviews. Im after responsive service if i need it, reliable platform, hassle free trading and good fx rates. Low brokerage is important but not as important as the other factors
I trade ASX via Superhero but for US shares their FX fee looks high to me:
SuperHero FX fees
The FX Transfer fee between AUD and USD is 70 basis points (bps), meaning US$0.0070 will be added to the...

Hi everyone. I'm interested to know if anyone did this training with Christine McDonald at LowRiskIncome.net (site now gone, use WayBack Machine to view) around 2012-2015 ?
She sold covered calls and made it look simple to do.
Thanks ..read more

I am getting back into shares and historically have used a combo of fundamental and technical analysis. I used to use which was Stock Doctor for FA and Amibroker for TA. I have been looking at some other resources and would love some opinions as drowning in options at the moment -
Morningstar Investor - I am wanting to get into some international shares in addition to AU. I have looked at the trial for Morningstar and it seems to offer some good info on both AU and some...

I'm posting here rather than the General thread, as I'm not talking about movies in general
Someone in another thread just mentioned the movie, "The Big Short" and I realised I haven't seen it.
Tell me, what are your favourite stock market / trading movies? I've not seen many. Wall Street and Boiler Room...can't think of any others off top of my head...

Books that should be read more than once.
Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder
While Taleb’s previous two books—Fooled by Randomness and The Black Swan—focused on overconfidence and underestimation of risk, Antifragile is the antidote on how we can reduce fragility and in the process, gain from disorder and randomness.
Antifragile provides a view that doing something supposedly harmful (not too much) can be beneficial. Here are some examples:
An...
