You’d think there would be a ton of fantastic gluten-free cookies available in stores. After all, we’ve come a long way in figuring out how to make cookies with great taste and texture but without gluten.
However, we still find it somewhat rare to bite into an impressive mass-market store-bought gluten-free cookie. This is why we love Mightylicious Cookies.
Available in seven flavors — including two vegan options — they’re not just certified gluten-free, kosher, made with cage-free eggs, and free of hydrogenated oil, GMOs, and preservatives. They’re also individually or two-cookie sealed for f ..read more

GFF editor Erika Lenkert breaks in her new abode with a holiday feast for GFF West Coast contributors.
When I downsized and moved from Marin County to San Francisco, I thought the best way to christen my new, significantly cozier space was to host a feast for my people. So, my culinary right hand and good friend Eric Lundy and I brainstormed a menu, got into the kitchen, and created an easy, elegant holiday extravaganza for some of our core West Coast GFF contributors. When guests arrived, the sparkling-wine cork popped, and we gathered around the eat-in kitchen table, I was reminded that good ..read more

Anyone who follows a gluten-free diet knows how costly a trip to the supermarket can be. Exactly how much more expensive are gluten-free foods? In the February 2019 edition of Nutrients, Anne Lee, R.D. and fellow doctors at the Celiac Disease Center, Columbia University Medical Center, published an article titled, “Persistent Economic Burden of the Gluten Free Diet.” In it, they explained findings such as “the overall cost of GF products was 183 percent more expensive than their wheat-based counterparts.”
They also found that “the largest difference between GF and wheat-based products wa ..read more

Print Crunchy Salad with Chicken, Peanuts, and Tangy Peanut Butter Dressing
I love this salad so much, I make extra dressing, store it in the fridge, and easily prepare the salad multiple times in one week. Try it once and you too are likely to fall for the seduction that is this fantastic salad. Bonus: it’s still delicious if you don’t have all the ingredients: use all romaine or all slaw, skip the sesame seeds or onion, throw in other vegetables as desired ..read more

This beautiful dessert is sort of like a cloud of crunchy-soft marshmallow, only better, especially with the addition of fresh fruit and whipped cream. Its sophisticated looks belie the simplicity of making it; whip up a handful of ingredients, bake them in the oven, then add toppings. Edible flowers would send this gluten-free pavlova way over the top in the best possible way. Skip the whipped cream or use vegan whipped cream and it’s dairy-free too!
