5.11 Watch Jacket Review I'll start by saying that this won't be for everybody, however it was exactly what I required.. It's styled like a field jacket without really being one. It is unlined, no hood and no epaulettes. Made in Vietnam from a poly/cotton blend, and teflon covered to be showerproof but not rain proof. The fabric is slightly stretchy and that allows for a good range of movement. It is described as very durable and certainly feels it without being thick or heavy. It has 4... 5.11 Watch Jacket Review ..read more

Old man Jacket

I need a new jacket. Something nicer than a hoodie. Something a little less flashy than my neon yellow windbreaker. Something a little less shiny and nylon than my raincoat. I need an old man jacket. Dressy enough to wear into church, but casual enough to throw over a t-shirt at a ball game. I've had them before, but I am looking for a bit more quality. Not a full rain jacket, but I am not a fan of the look of fleece. If money was no object I'd have a custom tweed jacket made...but alas. As... Old man Jacket ..read more

Hey everybody, I'm looking for some advice on socks. I have always worn 1/4 sock or ankle socks whatever you want to call them with boots. I'm getting ready for a move to Alaska and want to get some warmer socks for my boots. Obviously I want to find wool, unless y’all know of something better. The problem I'm having I don't see anyone that makes warm socks in this style sock. I only like the sock to come u over the ankle any taller then I spend all my time having to pull them up from... Belts: Wilderness Instructor vs. 5.11 Trainer

I've been using a Wilderness Instructor belt for a couple of years now. It's the simple version (1.5" wide). I'm very pleased with the thing. My pants stay up all day and I can dangle stuff from it without needing to re-adjust it - I've even dangled myself from stuff by attaching a rope to the buckle. Now I'd like a second belt, in black. Wilderness is next to impossible to obtain where I live, though - and I'd rather not order from the US and have the hassle with customs. The... I’ve been on the hunt for that perfect Tee, I’ve gone through a bunch in search of the one. My top three go to shirts are: #3 Vollebak Ceramic Tee, it’s about $120 after shipping so it’s pricier than most but they are my most worn Tees. Link: https://www.vollebak.com/product/ceramic-t-shirt-navy/ #2 Iron Heart Loopwheel 6.5oz they just fit really well for a out of the box shirt. (About $85 USD) Link: https://www.ironheartamerica.com/tops/iht-1610l-wht.html #1 Son of... Summer is coming… Let’s talk Tee Shirts ..read more

Anyone own PAK RAT SOF Shell?

The PAK RAT SOF Shell is from Delta2Alpha, a Canadian company offering interesting items. You can Youtube a video of the jacket. At $199 Canadian, I am wondering if anyone owns it and what they think of it. I can't seem to find reviews. I have similar soft-shell material jackets but I am looking at this one for the pocket options. You may also reply to this thread if you own a two-tone jacket as they have a solid black and two-one models. I am thinking about all black as it is more generic.... EDC Hats

First off, I love hats (I think I've mentioned this before), so I have a number of hats Now I like brimmed hats as I've gotten older. I really like Outback styled hats, and I have a few real ones (like Akubra's and such). I also have some lesser ones (like some 'Cabela's' hats, etc). Several years ago I bought this Cabelas wool hat, kind of in the Outback style, but with a smaller brim (looks more like a fedora than an outback hat). Anyway, it's a "crushable" hat. I guess this means it... EDC Hats ..read more

Shorts useable as swiming trunks, pajama shorts and streetwear?

Trying to reduce the number of clothing items I need to bring to a travel, I'm currently stuck to find a good pair of shorts that are multi-functional: to be used in bed (freeballing is important to me), can be used for workout and swimming and - if all other things fail - cruising the streets. Must be fast drying (minutes instead of hours), have a waistband (instead of a belt) and should have pockets (back and/or cargo - ideally with zippers). Doesn't need to be super fashionable, dark... Anyone else sporting the awesome brand "KUHL" pants?? Or any of their clothing for that matter? I've heard it mentioned repeatedly here in the forum and aware they make quality stuff but, curious how EDC friendly the new line of pants in particular really are?? I can never find the model or sizes needed to fully try 'em out. And not a big fan of buying a $100 pair over and over to find the magic pair or size. And when I say EDC, yes I mean concealed carry guns as well as stuffed... Kuhl brand clothing ..read more

Tilley LTM5 or Shelta Seahawk?

Hi, My outdoors hat is a Columbia Coolhead Cachalot (it might be an older model but practically the same). I use it whenever I'm in the sun and quite often it is when I'm at the pool/beach. It is light, dries quickly, easy to store in a cargo pants pocket, and can be used with the neck guard or flipped in a second to be a baseball cap - being able to transform it into a regular baseball cap is a huge advantage. It is a... Tilley LTM5 or Shelta Seahawk ..read more
