Navy works for your colouring/hair colour - so being ‘off’ navy is a personal preference only, in my opinion.  You’ve learned something from the challenge - which is that you ‘need’ navy - in small doses, for the life you lead.  The take-away: it might not be your favourite colour at the moment, but it serves a purpose - especially for work occasions.  Keep the navy items that have worked for you this month (the jacket, the pants) but no need to add more.   ..read more

Thanks Dana, I think I did see Cinq A Sept in Bloomies, a lot of pretty stuff. I can see why you and your friend like it. I'd prefer a long sleeves so that particular style is not for me but I do see the possibilities. Maybe it's the find below, or similar.  Paige is generally a no-go:  their jeans are almost all high rise or wide leg (can't wear/don't like), and their blazers are all hip length (proportions won't work for me) ... but thanks for the suggestion. Maybe things will change in the fall.  ..read more

To answer your question Sal, personally, I'm not a '90s dresser or a minimalist. I'm an '80s and '70s gal - with a bit of '60s in the mix for good measure! Those were the parts of the '90s I enjoyed the most.  That said, I like how YOU are embracing the vibe for work!  Agreeing with Brooklyn and Suz! The baggy jeans in #2 are KILLER awesome! And very on trend with the big and long blazer. An excellent office look for your workshop environment! You wear the look perfectly!  Next faves are the skirt look in #1, and the red jacket look in #3. KILLER Sal outfits - and ..read more

No failures on my screen! Simply a change of priorities, which is a good thing! We have to be flexible in life. You look fab :) You are short on bottoms that fit comfortably at the moment - so it makes sense that you want to wear these. Good classic! Lesson learned, and onward ..read more

Sal- I  have my wedding dress as the only formal wear remaining in my closet, I managed to donate the rest as they were getting pretty dated looking.  Suz- Yes sometimes its just simply the “association” we have with an item that keeps us hanging onto it. Glad the blazer served you so well. Jaime- I get it, that excitement of finding something so unique and special does make it hard to let go. Star- I definitely enjoy this handbag’s punch of red with my outfits. I find it works particularly well with all my denim and my black/white/grey outfits.. Angie- Appreciate your kind words&nbs ..read more
