Are there any professional certifications out there for DSP? I know they are not universally valued, but I think in some circumstances they can be useful. I’m a field like DSP that relies heavily on a solid understanding of math and science I could easily see an exam based certification being a more objective way to demonstrate and advertise your DSP knowledge. What are your all’s thoughts on the matter?

I'm doing a course work, my task is to make an audio editor. I have implemented a phase vocoder, but it works incorrectly, adding some kind of tremolo or vibrato to an audio. I'd appreciate it really much if someone could check my code and see what's wrong. You could also see this on my github, the class is at src/effects/Pitch.
struct ae_signal{ float magn; float bin_freq; }; //typedef Utils::Frequencies std::valarray < std::complex<double> > void Pitch::processFftChunk(Utils::Frequencies &freqs) { auto n = freqs.size(); auto n_h = freqs.size() / 2; auto hop = n_h/2; Utils ..read more

I am specifically looking for explanation on these two versions (shown when typing help snr in command line)
R = snr(X) computes the signal to noise ratio (snr), in dBc, of
the real sinusoidal input signal X. The computation is performed over
a periodogram of the same length as the input using a Kaiser window
and excludes the power of first six harmonics (including the
fundamental).
R = snr(X, Fs, N) computes the signal to noise ratio (snr) in dBc, of
the real sinusoidal input signal, X, with sampling rate, Fs, and number
of harmonics, N, to exclude from computation when computing snr. The

I have found pyroomacoustics very useful while I have been trying to simulate acoustics for a recording studio I am constructing. It uses ray tracing and image source model. I wonder if anyone else here anybody else doing acoustic simulation, and what tools/techniques you have been using?

Hi everyone, I got a question on my dsp course and I need some help.
I have to design a linear phase high pass filter with Bartlett window of the lowest order.
with the following conditions:
w(cutoff)=5*pi/6
at w1=5.2*pi/6 we got a max attenuation of 1 db.
at w2=4.8*pi/6 we got a min attenuation of 20 db.
I need to design and scheme a minimal execution of it.
I thought about multiplying the ideal high pass filter by the window, and then we know that multiplication on the time domain is a periodic convolution on the frequency domain, then I should take the absolute value of it on w1 and w2 and ..read more

Slower clocks mean lower power consumption, any other benefits?
Could the multirate filter be more sharper than the single-rate filter?

Hi everyone!! I know there's a lot of problem statements online, but I figured here since a lot of y'all work in the industry id get more relevant answers. Is there any existing problem statement with respect to audio signal processing and biomedical/medical field that can be explored more for a undergrad? I'm quite clear w dsp fundamentals and wanted to apply to a real time project! Would love to hear your opinions thanks

I have an interview for a camera imaging ASIC design engineer next week & I'm currently working as an ASIC design engineer. I mostly deal with Ethernet and DDR controllers in my past and current experience. I have nowhere mentioned DSP algorithms in my resume(I was surprised when I got a call). Since the role I am interviewing emphasizes DSP algorithms in their roles & responsibilities. Could anyone help /share their interview experience & what kind of questions I might expect? PS:- It's been over a year since I looked into any DSP stuff.

I mainly come from an audio DSP background and want to learn more about DSP for communications before I graduate. I have slight familiarity with some topics such as QAM, OFDM, and wireline channels but lack the fundamentals. Could anyone offer some resources on where to learn comms? Another thing I struggle with is that there are so many different topics and I don't know how they relate to each other, for example is phase, frequency, or amplitude modulation used in OFDM?
I'm also interested in playing around with software defined radios for learning purposes - any info about what they're used ..read more
