The Wings weren’t in action Saturday night, but a game with huge implications for the Wings 2024 offseason took place in Halifax as the Thunderbirds defeated the Colorado Mammoth 14-10. At the trade deadline, Paul Day traded forward Taggart Clark to the New York Riptide in exchange for their first round selection in the 2024 NLL draft, which coincidentally was from the Colorado Mammoth. After the trade, the Mammoth have gone 1-4, losing their final four games of the season. The Wings got back on track in Denver on Friday night as they jumped on the Mammoth early and never looked back. The Wings were helped to a five goal lead with first quarter goals from Joe Resetarits, Ben McIntosh (2), Mitch Jones, and Holden Cattoni. Colorado started to show signs of life in the second quarter, cutting the Wings lead to 5-3 before Resetarits and Jones scored in the final minute of the half to take a 7-3 lead into the halftime break.
