*Thanks to the Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau for sponsoring this post* My 9-5 life has been crazy busy and there isn't much time for a weeklong vacation, so I've been intentional about exploring my own backyard for fall getaways. The NC coast is full of fun, history, wildlife, and good eats so it was a no brainer to head there to relax, decompress and rest. I chose to spend a weekend in Carolina Beach & Kure Beach. Although they share the same island, they have such different vibes. Also, the area is very lowkey, so it has a very aut ..read more

When researching things to do in Oahu, Hawaii it was evident that my trip wouldn't be complete without a hike. As a plus sized person, I've never hiked before, so I was very strategic when choosing a trail on the Big Island. We decided to hike the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail because it was paved and the trail was only 2.4 miles roundtrip. I was a little overwhelmed prepping for my first hike because I began to question my ability to hike and if I had the stamina to complete the hike. After scrolling through tons of articles, I couldn't find one that specially catered to plus sized women l ..read more

Seattle Travel Journal Date: 10/11/2021 Time: 9:32 am Location: Seattle, Washington  Hello Travel Thoughts, I remember during my trip to Cuba in 2019, Kenyatta continuously referred to travel as the spice of life. I wasn’t quite sure what she meant by it until this trip to Seattle. Travel is the flavor of my life, it’s the razzle dazzle, the garnishment, & the salt & pepper to taste lol.   I didn’t realize how much fulfillment travel has brought to my life until I did some self reflection at the Pike Place Market pier. The scenery, the people, the fresh flower ..read more

Photographer: Eagle Vision Photography I remember talking to my business partner in late-March as the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the U.S. We joked about the cheap flights and started making plans to take full advantage of the travel deals and discounts. I shuffled through many blog posts and YouTube videos but I didn't find one that gave me reassurance that I'd recover or that was written/recorded by a person who was positive; most ..read more

Skirt: Eloquii, Jacket: Eloquii, Top:Lands' End Hey Babes! Today is the last day of 2019 and the last day of this decade. As much as I'd like to complain about how sucky 2019 has been, in reality, this year was full of more life wins than losses. Plus, we made it to the end so it couldn't have been that bad...right? Earlier this month my therapist and I revisited my 2019 goals to assess how much I'd accomplished (or not) this year. To my surprise out of the 6 goals listed, I completed 4! I encourage you to take a look back at the goals you set out at the beginning of the year to really meas ..read more
