This post is going to be a long one.
I almost deleted my blog and decided to stop blogging a couple of weeks ago.
I had a post in the draft folder where I shared my reasoning for it, but the more I began to think about my reasons for it, I started to realize that I needed to just take a weekend to think about it.

If you consider my very first blog, I have been blogging for over ten years. Although I have only been blogging on this space since about 2013, I have had a blog and been blogging since my junior year in high school. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, what was once a place for me to vent all of my teenage frustrations had become a medium for me to express my creativity in a way that has become another form of outlet for me.

I tweeted a couple of months ago about how making real friendships are a lot harder now as an adult than it was when I was younger. Like I’m talking real, authentic friendships that aren’t just about talking about the weather or asking “how are you?” in passing. I mean real friendships where you support each other through difficult times, you can count on them and who are always in your corner.

I cannot believe that June is almost over?
I know I say this every month, but every month I have the same realization that this year is flying by. I think if anything though, I am looking forward to July even more because I have some plans to hopefully visit the beach a lot this summer with a book in one hand and some snacks in the other.

A personal pet peeve of mine is when strangers or people that I have no real friendship or connection with come up to me and touch my hair. As someone who has worn many different hairstyles in their lifetime, I have had plenty of people see a new hairstyle as an opportunity to reach their hand out to touch it’s texture or investigate its appearance.

Although I am not vegan, it is something I have thought about changing my diet to for a while now. I think for me I don’t want to rush into it and want to make sure that if I do decide to vegan or vegetarian I am doing it with much thought and intention.

Fun fact that you may not know about me is that I love to read. It’s something I have not been able to do as often, but it’s something that I always enjoy once I do. Maybe it’s the English major in me coming out, but I love how authors often write their books with symbolism and content that is intended to be analyzed.

A couple of weeks or so ago, I shared in my newsletter about how I realized through almost purchasing a yellow item I knew I would never wear more than once simply because I thought it would photograph well, gave me the opportunity to really evaluate my heart and to slow down a bit.

Jeans (Old Navy) / Everyday Heels (Old Navy) / Earrings – Target (Sold Out)
Something you might know if you have been reading my blog for a little while is that I am not someone who wears a lot of colorful things. I have an appreciation for bright colors and I love them, but when it comes to wearing them, I am not as excited about doing so.

My birthday was this past week and I still can’t believe that I am 28. It’s weird thinking about the fact that I’m already 28 which means that 30 isn’t too far behind, but I am so grateful to be able to see another year of life. Now that I am older, birthdays have meant something different to me where I find them as being a great opportunity to reflect on the year’s best in hopes of becoming better and wiser than I was the previous year.
