The Language Exchange is back! LEARN A LANGUAGE OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM Go to the Language Centre website Click on WebLearn (top right of page) and log-in Choose Language Exchange Go to the Language you can offer section and add the language you would like to learn, and that’s it! Apart from the Arabic textbooks, all other textbooks are available for you to borrow for the duration of your Language Centre class. Write down your name in the library register and hey presto! New Courses! And other changes!

After a major consultative review last academic year, we have launched a suite of three new modern language pathways for 2018-19, General, Academic and Fast Track. The overall name of the three pathways is Languages for All. This completely replaces the previous longstanding LASR and OPAL courses. Our Academic English courses continue to be on offer, but with new simpler course titles. All information about our new courses will be on our website We have also rationalised our opening hours from 8.45 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday in the 8 weeks of term time and 8.45am to 5pm in the vacations. The Language Centre will launch a completely new range of modern language courses this week for students and staff at the University. The Languages For All programme includes courses in 12 languages from beginner to advanced stages. General and Fast Track options are available, depending on learners’ needs – replacing the former LASR and OPAL courses. A range of Academic English courses will also continue to be on offer.
