The city elections are next Thursday, and there has been lots of misinformation about what the city council does (& most importantly does not!) do. According to the Oxford City Council website they’re responsible for planning, leisure and waste collection. They are NOT responsible for roads (that is Oxfordshire County Council). TLDR; this election has nothing to do with LTNs. Anyone who is promising to get rid of LTNs of elected is lying. I worked in Cowley in the late 80s and used to drink in the Chequers most nights. We'd sometimes go to on to a disco. There was this bloke who everyone seemed to know and he had his "thing" that whenever Rat Trap came on he'd do a full on dance where he acted out the lyrics really flamboyantly.
