My name is Tom and I love books. I listen to around 1-3 audiobooks a week while reading a different book at night. I primarily read non-fiction books with an emphasis on books that teach about a new topic. The fiction books that I do read usually end up being detective or crime books. I will be doing a short review of the nonfiction books I read.

This is a book about the World War II D-Day invasion. The interesting thing about this book was that it was told from the point of view of regular soldiers. The title of the book references the backgrounds of the point of view characters in the book.
I am going to spend most of this review discussing only a
small part of the book because it was very exciting, and it is impossible to
read about without getting a mental image. A portion of the Allied forces were

decided to outfit several vehicles/tanks with fire ladders ..read more

This is an astonishing book about corrupt and inept medical
examiners based in Mississippi from the late 1980’s to the 2000’s. A medical
examiner is an impartial doctor that determines the cause of death in suspicious
circumstances and helps the police determine any suspects.
There are two main characters in this book, Steven Hayne and
Michael West. The book focuses on two cases in which these two medical
examiners and the police put the wrong people in jail for years and years. The
two crimes were shown to be very solvable with the true culprit brought in for
questioning both times.

Working by Robert Caro
Now that I have finished my move to New York City, I can get
back to reviewing books! This book is written by a famous non-fiction author
about the process he goes through when writing his books.
The author wrote two books, The Power Broker and The Years of Lyndon Johnson, that won a Pulitzer prize for biographies. Both of these books took a very long time to write, with The Power Broker taking about seven years. The Years of Lyndon Johnson is actually a series of five books, of which only four have been released.
The two books are both famously very long and v ..read more

This is the only true crime book that John Grisham wrote,
which immediately signaled to me that it was probably a crazy story. It did not
disappoint and was just as crazy as I hoped it would be.
The book starts in Ada, Oklahoma in the 1980’s. The main crime was the rape and murder of a 20-year-old waitress in a small town. The book does a good job of describing all the insane actions of the police to get convictions on these clearly innocent people. It makes me happy that I don’t live in a small town with idiot cops and detectives.
There are a couple of different stories told about innoc ..read more
