Taiwan-based pinball manufacturer Homepin is working on the world’s first open source commercial pinball machine, which will be themed around the Blues Brothers. Pinball Magazine received a press release from Homepin stating the following:

Following the announcement of Pinball Brother’s new ABBA pinball machine, last Thursday, Pinball Magazine is reporting from the ABBA pinball launch event in Orebro, Sweden.
The Clarion hotel in the center of Orebro
The location for this ABBA pinball launch is the Clarion hotel in the center of Orebro, the city which is home to Pinball Brothers CEO Daniel Janson. Four ABBA pinball machines are at the venue. The party will have the band Punsch perform. At the time of writing it is unclear whether they will be performing ABBA music, or their own.

The ABBA Arrival LE cabinet
Swedish pinball manufacturer Pinball Brothers just revealed the first images of its ABBA pinball machine, three days before the official launch of the game. According to the press release, the game is available in a Voyage Collector Edition (300 units, MSRP 10,995 USD) and an Arrival Limited Edition (500 units, MSRP 9,995 USD). Oddly enough, the cabinet artwork on the Arrival LE reminds more of the Voulez-Vous album artwork, than the Arrival album.

As described in Pinball Magazine’s Pinball Expo report, Stern Pinball hosted the annual Pinball Expo factory tour in their new facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Pinball Expo attendees were driven to the factory in schoolbusses that picked up passengers at the Expo conference center. As can be seen in the photos, the line of attendees in the hall of the convention center was huge. Once people were dropped off in the parkinglot of Stern Pinball, they joined another line to get in.

Jersey Jack Pinball just revealed its newest pinball title: Elton John. The game is available in two editions: Platinum Edition (MSRP $12,000) and Collector’s Edition (MSRP $15,000, limited to 1,000 units). The game is designed by pinball industry veteran Steve Ritchie, assisted by apprentice Mark Seiden, and is Steve’s first design for Jersey Jack Pinball.

Pinball Expo is the world’s longest running annual pinball event, and also one of the biggest is size and number of visitors. The 2023 edition has a record number of vendors on the show floor where amongst everything else several new pinball machines will be revealed to the public. If you thought the month of March 2023, with multiple new pinball machine reveals ahead of the Texas Pinball Festival, was a crazy one-time affair, think again. We’re seven month later and with Pinball Expo starting later this week, at least three new pinball machines have already been announced to make their first public appearance at the event.
