Postpartum Life…

When I was pregnant with my first child, I was never aware of anything that goes on during the postpartum period. Sure I had heard of postnatal depression and the lack of sleep, but how tough could it really be?! I didn’t even think about it. Obviously I knew my life would change dramatically but I knew I would make it work. I knew I was going to be very tired, but I never really knew what the hell I was in for. Truth is, you will feel a level of exhaustion you never knew was possible. Having a baby is the most incredible, beautiful happiest thing in the world and I feel so blessed to have my ..read more

Christmas has come around so quickly this year. Having a baby in the past month has made it seem to come around even faster. Everything has felt like such a rush, but we are so excited for the big day! We started a christmas eve box tradition for Mia last year. We did not have these growing up and it’s something I really wanted to do with my children. I said I would not do Ava one as she is so young and there wouldn’t really be anything I could put in it. However, I felt a bit bad so I created her one and found some cute little bits to put in it. Mia’s Box – Pyjamas – Book – ‘That’s Not M ..read more

I can’t believe I am writing this! I still cannot believe that she is here. During pregnancy you feel like your gonna be pregnant forever. Even though my pregnancy seemed to fly past, I still had a moment where I felt like it was never really happening. My labour and delivery was a completely different experience to when I had my first. On Friday 23rd November I went to my usual 38 week midwife appointment. My bump was measuring quite small so as the rules they have to follow I was sent for a growth scan. I was having growth scans throughout my pregnancy anyway but my last one was at 35 weeks ..read more

38 weeks…. Our final pregnancy update has come around! Baby will be here anytime and I cannot believe we have reached the end of the pregnancy.  With just 2 weeks till our actual due date, we are currently at the waiting game stage. Every twinge, cramp or ache has me thinking ‘ THIS IS IT’. One of these days its gonna be the real deal. I haven’t thought much about labor throughout my whole pregnancy. I have the mindset of this baby has one way out and one way only. There is no other way out and its only a few hours of pain for a lifetime of happiness. Our bags are all packed and read ..read more

Mama Mia Blog

I thought I would share with you all what I have packed in mine and baby’s hospital bags. There are so many long lists online it can feel a bit daunting when it comes to packing your bags. First time around I think I definitely packed a little bit too much. I guess everyone does, you’re going into an unknown situation with not a clue what is gonna happen. Anyway, it is better to be over prepared then under prepared. Our hospital is not far from home so I will take all the necessities we need for a short stay I am hoping to have. If it so happens we end up being in the hospital any longer ..read more

We finally got discharged from the consultant this week. We had our last appointment on Tuesday and everything went fine. Baby is growing a little on the large side but they weren’t too worried. However, I am as I have to p ..read more

My Journey To Becoming A Stay At Home Mum…
Mama Mia Blog
by Dani Shuttleworth

There is such a big stereotype out there that stay at home mum’s have it ‘easy’. You know, go for coffee’s, meet up with friends, go on lots of fun days out. I mean, these do occasionally happen but it is not everyday life and it certainly isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. I gave up going for ‘coffee’s’ a long time ago. After spending the whole time chasing Mia up and down costa coffee I thought I may as well give up. It just ends up being put into a takeaway cup and off I go. All these new drive-thrus, Costas and Starbucks,  a quick trip to there will do just fine. Although som ..read more

I thought I would put together a little post of 10 activity ideas to do throughout Autumn. It can be so hard to entertain the little ones constantly, its great to have some ideas! I have been doing these with Mia and she has really enjoyed taking part in them. MAKE A LEAF WREATH – These are so cute! Cut out a circle and glue some leaves around! HANDPRINT TREE PAINT/CARVE A PUMPKIN – Crazy looking pumpkin, I know. But it was Mia’s own art so I love it.  BAKE HALLOWEEN COOKIES NATURE WALKS SCAVENGER HUNT – You can find so many different scavenger hunt lists online. This one is off ..read more

Eeeeek I cannot believe I am writing this! We are well and truly nearing the end of this pregnancy. Here we are, just 6 weeks till baby girls due date, how did we get here so fast when my first pregnancy felt like it lasted 3 years! Ever since about 2 weeks ago this pregnancy has started to get hard. Baby has had a growth spurt and I am starting to feel all sorts of aches and pains. Tiredness is creeping back in and sleeping is becoming very difficult. I have been having braxton hicks for a while, they started quite early on this pregnancy. At the minute they are crazy and I can feel the ..read more
