Best Locations for Family Photos in Phoenix As an Phoenix local and Arizona native, as well as a photographer of 12+ years, I’ve familiarized myself with most locations across the greater Phoenix area, as well as across the state. Locations for family photos in Phoenix require a little more effort and planning than other locations for engagement photos, elopements or high school senior photos. When you have little kids involved, logistics such as “will my baby or toddler stick their hand in this cactus?” and “is this location easy for my kids to walk in?”, as well as “are there bathrooms easi ..read more

Elegant Mountaintop Wedding at Different Pointe of View This wedding at the mountaintop resort Point Hilton Tapatio Cliffs – Different Pointe of View was a stunningly elegant wedding to photograph! While my primary focus is on moments and documentary photography- a focus that Jessica hired me for- I’d be lying if I didn’t love beautiful details and a gorgeous location. Different Pointe of View on North Mountain overlooks Phoenix. Jessica & Jason got engaged on that very mountain, so it was a natural choice for their wedding in Arizona coming from Chicago. It’s a fantastic resort if you wan ..read more

Amber wanted something a little bit nontraditional and laid back for her wedding to Kyle. She didn’t want to wear a white dress, so she wore a gold shimmery dress- simple and understated but gorgeous! Their two dogs were a huge part of their relationship. So, they decided to get married at Poco Diablo in Sedona, which is a very dog friendly resort, with not only their two dogs but also guests’ dogs were also invited! This is my kind of wedding- dogs everywhere! The stunning red rocks towering above the green grass and weeping willow tree near a beautiful white and red gazebo flanked their ce ..read more

You’re thinking of eloping! These days, eloping doesn’t mean you’re running off in secret to the courthouse or Vegas. An elopement can mean anything from having a simple, intimate wedding in a beautiful outdoor location in Arizona with just the two of you, to having a small wedding with 20 of your closest friends and family. Definitions of elopements compared to small weddings vary, but in general, as an Arizona elopement photographer photographing both elopements and weddings for the past 4 and 10 years, respectively, I consider an elopement to be 20 or less people, and a micro wedding/intima ..read more

These two Pennsylvania residents eloped across the country, amongst red mountains, blush tulle, and bubbly champagne at Cathedral Rock Trail in Sedona, AZ. Are they crazy? Maybe. Was their wedding magical? Absolutely. Cathedral Rock is only reachable via a hike. A challenging hike. A “scramble up on your hands and knees to make it to the top” kind of hike. But for those daring enough, the view is worth it. Cathedral Rock is also one of the most popular hikes in Sedona, especially for sunset elopements. Although you won’t be alone during your hike, it’s popular for good reason- it’s one of the ..read more

Summer Woods Canyon Lake Elopement

Yisel & Cory eloped in Payson, AZ near the Mogollon Rim & Wood’s Canyon Lake, a beautiful forest lake in northeastern Arizona. They wanted a simple, meaningful wedding with just their parents there. Cory’s dad married them even! A lot of people don’t realize how easy it is for their loved ones to get ordained online. Having a very intimate wedding was important to them and I think it allowed them to be more open with their emotions without feeling shy in front of too many people. There were so many sweet moments during the ceremony, like Yisel crying and Cory kissing Yisel’s hand. Cory ..read more
