Back To Racing Without Fans

I am fine with the fact that NASCAR has decided to go back to racing without fans in the stand. It’s the first step back to normalcy as from what has been months with no racing, not counting iRacing, which is not real racing. Sorry for those who love video games and such. (Although I did think it was pretty funny when Taylor Hamlin caused Denny to wreck by accidentally (?) shut off his monitor and he crashed into a wall). After watching the first race back and hearing several drivers comment on how weird it was to be at the track without fans…my dad came up with a great idea. Attach video moni ..read more

IRacing- Worth Your Livlihood?

I’m going to be perfectly frank here- i don’t see what the big deal is with iRacing. I mean yes we NASCAR fans are jonesing for real racing. But watching people play video games doesn’t seem as exciting to me as a real race. Maybe it’s because I am not a big gamer, unless you consider Words With Friends when I’m bored being a gamer. That said it seems some people are taking iRacing darn seriously. Bubba Wallace created quite the hubbub rage-quitting in the middle of an iRace and lost a sponsor because of it. For those who don’t know what rage-quitting is- much like the name suggests it quittin ..read more

Daytona 500 and Social Media

So because of Mother Nature- the Daytona 500 was run on Monday instead of Sunday. Sadly that meant that I couldn’t watch a majority of it because I had to work. So I followed along when I could on social media and Misty updated me occasionally over text. I got home during the red flag before the last two overtimes. So yes I did get to see that wreck. The one that turned my stomach- especially after watching the replay and realizing that Corey LaJoie hit an upside down Ryan Newman pretty much square in the drivers window/door when Newman’s airborne car came down directly in front of him. The g ..read more

Win A Mustang with Kevin Harvick at Daytona

Plan on watching the Daytona 500? Want to win a Mustang? It sounds easy but it’s not. But you will have to be super fast and have a twitter account. How fast? Well that depends on the #4 Pit Crew. How to win: Each time Harvick pits during the race you will have between 12-16 seconds (depending on the time it takes the pit crew to service the #4 Busch Ford). You just have to tweet #Pit4Busch and #Sweepstakes for a chance to win. Each pit stop is it’s own sweepstakes. Yes you read that right- each pit stop is a different car. But the mustangs up for grabs aren’t you average Ford Mustang ..read more

The Bud Crash…I mean Clash and Jimmie's Last 500

So this weekend was the Bud Crash…I mean Clash. I am not sure if you could even call that a race – it was more of a wreckfest than anything. I hope that is not telling of the Daytona 500. I know I am not the only one who felt that it was ridiculous the amount of crashing those cars were doing. So what we know so far is that Ricky Stenhouse Jr is on the pole for the 500. He’s usually pretty good at super speedways- if he can avoid the mayhem that they have on track. So we will see how that goes for him. Anyone got any favorites for the 500? Based on just the Clash it’s honestly hard fo ..read more

Housekeeping Good News/Bad News: The good news is that I have gotten a little bit further on transferring the badgroove.com domain name over to this wordpress site. The bad news is that I am pretty darn sure we will have lost all of our previous content. That is a lot of content to lose but whatever- it happens right? More good news, is that the 2020 NASCAR season is drawing ever closer! What is everyone’s thoughts about the season? Any favorites going into the season? Any thoughts about all the crew chief switches over at Penske? How will Martin Truex Jr fair without Cole Pearn leading his ..read more

Introducing Ourselves…again

We are the same ol’ badgroove.com bloggers (Amy and Misty) but we are relocated to badgroove.wordpress.com. Why? Badgroove was originally hosted by a friend of a friend. It’s now disappeared so I decided to just start fresh for the 2020 race season here on wordpress- since it’s a platform I already know. Who are we? Amy is a long time motorsports fan who loves NASCAR. She started out as a Bill Elliot fan when she was a child because he drove a ford and that is what her parents drove at the time. Later she became a die-hard Tony Stewart fan and still is to this day. She current ..read more

A Full-Circle Race: The IndyCar Championship.

If you know me, I am not just a NASCAR fan. I love motorsports in general.  A couple of weekends ago, I ended up watching some crazy motocross-type race where there were sidecars and someone in the sidecar that was being broadcast from the Ukraine thanks to the wonders of satellite television. I know that I have told the story of my first in-person race on here before. It wasn’t a NASCAR race. It was an Indycar race (back when their sanctioning body was CART before the split) at Laguna Seca. It’s the closest track to my house- literally only 10 miles, maybe less if you go by how the crow flies ..read more
