As of today, I’ve finished a total of 124 out of 208 books in my 2022 Goodreads Challenge, which equates to 60% complete and 40 books ahead of schedule. Outside of novels, my week was busy but good. On the job front, I’ve been pulled into at least 5 new projects, making my total somewhere around 12 different initiatives, some of which are small and others which are large. It’s the 20th week of reviews for 2022 and I read seven (7) books this week. Beyond the literary world, I spent most of my time working. I’m fully immersed in the new job and keeping a hectic schedule. Many of the colleagues I work with are based in California, so I’m finding myself fairly busy between 5 and 7pm EST each night, which isn’t ideal. I prefer to wind down by then, commute home (on days I’m in the onsite office) and make dinner. It’s the 18th week of reviews for 2022 and I read three (3) books this week. Things have been coming together with closing the items required from the escrow on the new CT house. Everything was sent to the bank this morning, so hopefully by the end of the month they will sign off that all requirements are complete and send me a check covering the remaining escrow balance. It’s the 17th week of reviews for 2022 and I read three (3) books this week. Now that I’m settling into my new home, I’ve begun a few house projects that keep me busier after work. Everything’s unpacked, and we’re beginning to select paint colors and choose where to hang the art and photos we’ve collected over the years. I completed all my final packing for the moving truck during the last few days, so reading wasn’t a priority… but I was glad to find all the time I did. It’s the 12th week of reviews for 2022 and I read seven (7) books this week. I’m not entirely sure how (with everything going on in my life this month) I managed to read a book each day. I’m noticing that I can read more quickly, and when I read several in a series in the same week, I might slightly skim some of the descriptions that aren’t new content.
