As a trainer, I often get asked about how great it must be to work in a gym because I’m able to work out all of the time. This is typically far from the truth. VACATION. The single greatest word in the English dictionary. Most Americans plan their entire lives around their next vacation. They plan out months in advance, schedule time off from work, save up funds, and exercise to look or move better to further enjoy the experience. What about when they finally reach their destination, tropical or otherwise? Should all this hard work dedicated to looking or feeling better be wasted in 1-2 weeks of neglect? I think not. My journey to become a personal trainer started in 2009. I had attended a dance studio for the majority of my life, which always served as an emotional outlet for me and guaranteed weekly exercise. In 2009 I was living in a suburb of Chicago attending Veterinary Technician school. When I was in Illinois I didn’t have dance to fall back on and I reverted back into bad habits. I had seen infomercials for P90x, but didn’t want to invest the money into the program or myself.  One late night/early morning I splurged and decided to make a change for myself. I was nervous as I had always stayed activ ..read more
