I’ve taken a work from home day today due to poor driving conditions on the morning commute. Thankfully I have the option to work from home once a week, so it made sense to bunker down at my kitchen table with some coffee and the Mindy Project and crack open my laptop.

In January this year, I had an idea. I’d been part of hirsutism and PCOS support groups for a while, and when I noticed, that many of us seem to have similar questions, I decided to initiate a survey. What supplements are you taking? Which ones are working for you? Are the symptoms affecting your relationships? What do you do about the hair? What is it like to live with the condition for you?

My Story
My story started like many of yours. I was there sitting in a doctor’s office. The thin paper on the cushion was uncomfortable. The doctor seemed somewhat cold, like she’d been doing this too long to hold compassion. And I was being told that I might be unable to have kids. I had PCOS.
I sobbed…I couldn’t tell you how long I sobbed. I was overwhelmed with disappointment and hurt. My close friends tried their best to comfort me, but they weren’t able to change what I knew to be true. It would be a struggle to conceive children.
