Activism is Sexy | Boudoir : Hallel

Before I met Hallel Abramowitz-Silverman, I knew her as the teenager that got arrested at the Western Wall with her mother for wearing a prayer shawl. Those images I saw 10 years ago have been forever etched in my mind. While Hallel has done a lot of work with Women of the Wall, her activism doesn’t end there. If you find yourself scrolling through Instagram and come across her profile, justhallel, you’ll see an incredibly beautiful, passionate, and articulate woman who has so much to share with the world. I was taken aback by her confidence and unapologetic nature, and her motto, “It’s cool t ..read more

Feeling It All | Boudoir : Leah

I remember the very first conversation I had with Leah. I thought she was beautiful and interesting, and based on the things she shared, I was definitely intrigued to know more about her. We spoke about her reasons for desiring a boudoir experience. We spoke about her feelings about being photographed in the past. We spoke about sexuality. We spoke about her journey toward becoming a rabbi, and how that played a role in all of this. By the end of her discovery call, she told me she had to think about it, and shortly after, decided it wasn’t the right time for her. As much as I want every woma ..read more

In My Element | Bridal Boudoir : Davina

“Becca, we’re engaged!” I hear my little sister’s voice on the other end of the phone. Tears well up in my eyes, as I think about how her life has led up to this moment.  It felt like just yesterday that we were giving dance recitals in front of our fireplace and laughing so hard that we fell to the ground. I still imagine Davina as a teenager, my partner in literal crime… (If you know, you know) …navigating the world for the first time together. I have so much love in my heart for the moments we’ve shared together over the years, and it’s been amazing to witness who she has become. Espec ..read more

Happy Birthday to Me | Israel Boudoir : Danielle

I can still remember the skepticism in Danielle’s voice when we spoke for the first time about her boudoir session. She told me that she really wanted to give this experience as a birthday gift to herself to celebrate her body after the birth of her beautiful twins. It was clear that Danielle loved photography, art, and her femininity. The thing was, she just wasn’t sure if her boudoir pictures would come out the way she’d like because she is used to having more control over her own photography. Danielle has a beautiful interior design portfolio and Instagram feed, and honestly, I get it. Ther ..read more

Celebrating Out Loud | Israel Boudoir : Malka

“I am Malka. An artist, calligrapher, wife, mama, proud friend of Rebecca, and mainly a human just trying to figure life out. I did a boudoir session as a treat to myself. I did it before I was ready or really knew why I wanted it on a deeper level. That's how I do a lot of the more important things in my life. On a whim. So far so good.” “I have admired Rebecca's work since I first came across it on Facebook years ago. I knew her talent was something special and worth following. I never actually imagined myself doing a session though. I couldn’t envision for a moment that I would be the subj ..read more

Empowered and at Peace | New York Boudoir : Rebecca

This breathtaking session took place last year, in October 2021. I know, I know. I can’t believe I haven’t posted it yet either! As the first cold breezes flew through New York, my makeup artist and I arrived at our gorgeous Airbnb to begin the first of many boudoir sessions. In my client’s words, “I’ve been speaking with Rebecca for years now trying to work with her. Splitting time between Israel and the US, conflicting schedules, and of course, Covid, we were finally able to make it work. This was years in the making!” When my client, also Rebecca, walked into the Airbnb for her boudoir s ..read more

No More Hiding | Tel Aviv Boudoir : Gabi

I grew up in New York in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, when women's weight and bodies were constantly demonized. From gossip tabloids to the news to overhearing other girls and women speaking about their bodies, no one seemed pleased with their appearance. The idea that my body should be something different than what it was became so internalized and was a part of what led to a painful eating disorder in my adolescence. I “recovered.” I regained weight, my period returned, and my skin brightened, but the true suffering continued in my own mind for years. Through being in therapy and fully ex ..read more

Almost exactly a year after we did B’s first boudoir session, we found ourselves in my new photography studio, doing another one. Boudoir experiences offer healing and empowerment, as well as a way to document new stages of our lives. While B’s last boudoir session was an anniversary gift for her husband at the time, this one was completely for her. Its purpose was to help her recognize and celebrate the woman she’s become and walk into this new chapter feeling grounded within herself. When she told me that a divorce was in her near future, we really focused on carving out a space where she tr ..read more

Being Authentic | Israel Boudoir

B came to my home studio in Efrat, Israel this past February. Her boudoir consultation was just a few weeks beforehand, and I remember thinking, “Wow, this is going to be a really special session.” She saw her session as having a few different purposes. Firstly, as a gift to her husband for their upcoming anniversary and his birthday, but also as a gift to herself. I related to her feelings, being an entrepreneur and a mother, and wanting to reclaim and celebrate this sensual side of ourselves. After doing her boudoir session and gifting a keepsake album and a love letter, designed by Malka Kl ..read more
