Allie + Tom are newer to the area like us. So when Allie contacted me about a maternity session and they needed ideas for a location, I went to my locations list I’ve been hoping to photograph at. I was excited when then they chose Lenape Park for their maternity session because I love the white bridge along with all the greenery. They had their baby shower the same day as the session so it was a full day of celebrating the baby girl on her way! They brought their pup, Finn, who I think will be a great big brother. Ben was actually there with are dog, Saylor, so we used Saylor to get Finn ..read more

You may remember Beth + Max’s engagement session from last summer with their pup, Hariet. They’ve known each other since they were 16 and finally tied the knot this spring. In fact, you’ll even see a photo of them from when they went to prom together! They’ve grown a lot since they were 16, they have a house and a dog. So it was only a matter of time before their Briarcliff Manor wedding happened. Beth + Max chose simple navy and silver colors that were clean and classic. Perfect colors for their traditional white Briarcliff Manor venue. My favorite way to start a wedding day is with the de ..read more

Ever since we’ve moved to Pennsylvania I’ve been wanting to photograph Princeton engagement pictures! I’d never actually been to the campus, but I’d seen pictures and I knew it would make the perfect place for gorgeous photos. So whenever I booked Jennifer + Patrick and found out the halfway point for us would be Princeton, I instantly suggested it for their engagement pictures! Before I changed my major in college to Photography & Graphic Design, I was actually in the Architectural Engineering major. Obviously I didn’t graduate in that, but I loved taking the architecture and architectu ..read more

Check out these two cuties from a Philadelphia lifestyle twin newborn session! I am slowly moving my business from NY to PA so I was excited when Anna contacted me about photographing a new family session with her twins. I’ve never actually photographed a twin session so I was ready for the challenge. And although Baby Girl is colicky, we managed to keep the session going pretty quickly to keep her happy. Baby Boy was great, he was just along for the ride. Can you imagine that they were actually 6 and 7 pounds when they were born! I don’t know how Anna did it! This is one of my favori ..read more

I am so excited to finally welcome Saylor Sophie Adams to the family and the Cassady K Photography blog!! I have been dreaming about getting a puppy since I was in college. My goal was right out of college to get a Yorkie named Lola. But I moved back home and just couldn’t do it to my family’s Yorkiepoo Sophie. Years passed, I moved to NY and I hadn’t got my own pup because of logistics and having a soft spot for Sophie when I would go back home. Sophie passed away 4.5 years ago and I was still missing her all the time, it was hard to go back home and not have her there. A Yorkiepoo is such a ..read more

One year old sessions are becoming one of my favorite types of family sessions, especially when I get to try out my new travel portrait studio. The kiddos are officially a toddler and they’re at such a fun age of exploring, finding almost anything entertaining, and trying to walk. Meet Savannah! Her one year old session was extra special because I photographed her newborn session last year and because she’s the daughter of my roommate from college. Pictures are always a great reason to see Savannah and hang out with my roommie, Carrie. For Savannah’s first birthday I brought along what I’m c ..read more

There is nothing like seeing your pictures in print. It sounds kind of silly to say that. But to physically hold in your hands a memory, a moment in time, a day that you waited for and planned; it somehow transports you back to that time and all the feelings from those moments. This wedding album from Grace + Craig’s Ninety Acres wedding instantly takes me back to their day, everything that happened, and all of their details. Two out of my four wedding packages include wedding albums because I believe they’re that important. But you can always order an album later down the road after the wedd ..read more

I don’t know where to begin with Shelby + Cody’s wedding day. As their photographer it felt like everything and more so I can only imagine how they felt. They held their private estate tented wedding at the house that Shelby’s family had just finished building a few months earlier. As we drove over a bridge to the house to meet up with Shelby and her girls we saw this big white tent and I knew it must be where we were going. When Shelby + Cody and I had our first meeting they shared a couple pictures of the house in construction and I could tell it was going to be amazing. They even had a wat ..read more

I recently had the opportunity to take Beth and Max’s Rockwood Hall engagement photos. With impending weather coming in for the session, it reminded me that one of the surprising things about a photographers job is the number of hats we may have to wear. In this case, it was meteorologist. We traveled to New York for Beth + Max’s Rockwood Hall engagement photos. The whole way there I was texting with Beth about the weather. It was supposed to rain right when we were going to start the engagement session. Luckily Ben and I had left early so we could move up the engagement session and c ..read more

If you’ve been anywhere around my social media the past couple of days then you’ve heard that Saturday was Cassady K Photography’s 10 year anniversary! I originally wasn’t going to put together a 10 year anniversary blog post – the social media and my 1 hour session giveaway was enough. But I looked back and read my 5 year anniversary and saw that I didn’t go over board and thought I could easily do a recap of the past 5 years. So if you’d like to read about the first 5 years go to this blog post. Have you heard of the #10YearChallenge? It’s on social media where you post pictures that are 10 ..read more
