Recently went to the farm to put out cams and check plot status. This plot, where I’ve been getting tons of action….bear, good bucks, lots of does…is hurting from weeds. I frost seeded clover. it’s there, but not thick, and they are proly eating the weeds too. In some of the areas where we have opened up the canopy in our Ozark hunting ground, pin cherry saplings take over after 2 years. Looking for ideas on how to set them back other than fire. 1. I usually get to mid or late summer and realize that I forgot to establish a mineral lick, and this past spring I was picking up some seed at the St. Peters CO-OP and grabbed a bag of Trophy Rock granular mineral. Normally I get virtually zero summer pics of bucks, rather I just get pics of a couple of groups of does that live in the area. This year has a been great so far.
