Greg Sankey and the SEC released the 2025 schedule, and it’s as lame as you think. | Photo by Johnnie Izquierdo/Getty Images The SEC is trying to have their cake and eat it too Ever since Texas and Oklahoma announced they were joining the SEC in 2021, everyone and their grandmother has had an opinion about how the new 16-team conference should be structured schedule-wise. When the SEC announced the 2024 schedule last year it appeared clear at the time that the 2024 season would be a transition year to onboard the new teams. Keeping the conference schedule at eight games while eliminating divis ..read more

Cal Tobias/Rock M Nation Missouri got its first SEC win last weekend, can it get its first series win this weekend? After a competitive weekend of baseball against Kentucky, Missouri laid an egg in the midweek to its rival Illinois. The good news for the Tigers (10-15, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) is that they have the opportunity to get right back on the horse with a visit to Vanderbilt this weekend. The No. 7 Commodores (20-6, 3-3) enter the weekend looking to rebound from a series sweep at the hands of South Carolina. The series prior they did sweep Auburn and they are on an 11-game home wi ..read more

Mizzou Links for Thursday, March 28 Mizzou Made in MLB Happy Opening Day! It is Opening Day (already?) around MLB, and there’s a good representation of former Mizzou Baseball players that are currently in the majors. Pitcher U, of course. We might as well start off with Kyle Gibson — because he was one of the many pitching additions from the St. Louis Cardinals this off-season. Gibson struggled in Spring Training with an ERA of 7.80 — but he had a good outing in his final ST start on Tuesday against the Cubs. Kyle Gibson brought the heat in Arizona today! 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K#ForThe ..read more

Cal Tobias While the preseason is quite young, there’s plenty to be learned from the 90 minutes of action from Audrey J. Walton Stadium. After the first spring game, Missouri soccer has learned plenty about the team. Despite losing 1-0 to Central Missouri, very little of the game had to do with the Jennies. Here’s what we’ve learned from the Tigers from the game on March 16. Putting an odd end to a strange season in context. Another season of Mizzou Wrestling has come to a close, one that will surely be remembered for years to come for the twists and turns of its final months. The Tigers came into the year with high expectations and largely delivered on that promise until a bizarre sequence of illnesses and injuries conspired to douse the flame of potential this team displayed. Mizzou ended the NCAA Championships in a tie for 11th, its lowest finish since 2014. The Tigers finished with three All-Americans, two wrestlers who fell just short of reaching that distin ..read more

With not quite as large of a crowd on hand than I would have thought at the Smoothie King Arena in NOLA — seriously, where was everyone in the lower bowl? — the Missouri Tigers tipped off what hopes to be a long postseason journey for the Black & Gold. Overall, the Tigers finally put together four complete rotations. Facing off against #12 Arkansas, #14 Auburn, and #18 Georgia, they led from start to finish in the first session of the SEC Gymnast ..read more

Sarah Becking As an exercise, let’s peruse the Missouri football roster and make comparisons — some sound, some outlandish — of players on this team to recent Missouri Tiger legends. As college sports fans, we are always looking to our past to project onto our present and future. Perhaps it is because unlike pro fans we have such a short time with the players, that we feel we can extend their time with us with nostalgia. If every quarterback is the next Chase Daniel, if every defensive end is the next Markus Golden, their time with us will never end. And it works the other way, too: as college ..read more
