It’s been fun pretending to be someone who has their stuff together this week, but it wraps up today with the last recap from our trip.  So here goes! Well, we did it.  Officially two weeks ago, we sent our kid off to second grade.  Congratulations to us for making it through summer break with zero deaths or major injuries.  We went to Meet the Teacher, where we found out that the three amigo best friends had all been split up into the three different classrooms, which upset Sheff just a bit, but he did have some other friends from first grade in his class with him. I had one day of vacation left before it resets in September, so B and I decided to head to NOLA for a late birthday celebration.  B’s parents had said they would like Sheff for a weekend, so it all worked out perfectly!  We drove down to Montgomery on Thursday night and spent the night there, and got up bright and early to head down to our favorite city. I meant to get this post up last week, but I don’t think I got any posts up last week.  It was a busy one followed by a fun weekend, so I’ll get to all that later on. This week has been a lot calmer than last week – hooray!  Sheff had his soccer game on Tuesday, that he did really well in: two saves and two goals.  He seems to have picked up on the game really quick. Plus, he’s just the cutest ever. Other than that, it’s been a lot of reading and show watching in bed.  Our power went off yesterday during the bad storms, so we lit some candles and ate dinner, and it was kind of nice.  It came back on, but the internet was down, so we all crammed into our bed and watched dog videos on Tik Tok.  So cool, I know.
