By now we’ve all seen THAT quote that sent us into deep thought, or perhaps you looked at it differently and saw something that was untrue? However we look at it, a Parent gets a period of time to spend with their children at different stages in their lives. For me, I looked at this and felt panic, reality of how little time I have with Cailyn while she’s a little girl. She’ll soon grow up, flea the nest and have her own life. One things for sure me and Chris will always look at her as our baby girl. We don’t just have 18 summers, we have a life time of Summers, Winters, Autumns and Sprin ..read more

Don’t you just love it when you can see you’re kids smile, laugh and be in awe with something new to them! That’s exactly how Cailyn was with her new trike from little tikes . We set off towards the nature trail behind our house which is just so beautiful and peaceful. She took to the trike so quickly and eaisly which was amazing and better than I did building it - them wheels got me and daddy had to fix it but go me for building 90% of it. It was smooth to handle, turned great and without any trouble. She kept her little feet up on the foot plates - as she can’t reach the pedals yet. Th ..read more

Firstly let’s just give a massive shout out to all the dads out there who are absolutely amazing! You’re all fantastic & deserve the best day ever! Fathers Day for Chris this year was spent doing things he loved the most & that definitely includes driving his car, eating, spending time with us & being able to enjoy the silly moments in life but also being away from too many people ..... he’s not a fan! Are all men like this? Socially quiet & like their own space or is that just old age? We enjoyed family time in the sun at Dalkeith Country Park while having one of my famous ..read more

Have you ever been to a circus before & left thinking ...... that’s actually incredible? Well today, we did. I remember seeing a show many many years ago with a different company and thinking it was not what I expected, a bit of a disappointment. However today, Gandey’s completely blew me away and my idea of what a proper circus act was met with the highest level of detail possible. We went along for the 2pm showing, myself, my partner & our 15 month old child who I was sure would kick off and want to leave but nope! She loved it, the sounds, colours, lights and acts kept her going f ..read more

As a mother I’ve become quite partial to the cute mummy gifts and silly things that’s around the shops. Cards and things to make us feel a bit special are always given with love in this house. This year instead on the cute 1st Mother’s Day I had last year I’m going for something different, practical and most definitely needed! So here’s my routine and the gifts I’d love and think every Mummy should have this Mother’s Day! On the day: We wake up and usually grab Cailyn for cuddles in our bed, open my cards and get all mushy with the obligatory glass of fizz. Then, I happily make breakfast be ..read more

Self Care & what it means to me

Self Care is something none of us practice enough. It doesn’t have to be expensive, it may even be free, it could well be something you’ve needed or most definitely deserved as you sit there with your chipped nail varnish and greasy hair? Yup, me to! We all do it. Unfortunately we as mothers never have “the time”. Self love & Self Care are very similar. Selflove is a language used in the way that you do the self care. Affirmation/ Gifts/ Touch/ Service & Time. The most common ways to conduct self love is gifts and touch. We always assume that we need to buy ourself something or go al ..read more
