Have you heard that the Kendrick brothers released a new movie?
It is called The Forge.
Here is a description:
Isaiah Wright has some growing up to do. A year out of high school with no plans for his future, Isaiah is challenged by his single mom and a successful businessman to start charting a better course for his life. Through the biblical discipleship from his new mentor, prayers of his mother and a prayer warrior named Miss Clara, Isaiah begins to discover God’s purpose for his life is so much more than he could hope for or imagine. From the Kendrick Brothers, the creators of th ..read more

Where there is no counsel, the people fall;
But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
~Proverbs 11:14
I am currently reading a devotional by Debbi Bryson and she had some wise words on seeking godly counsel that I wanted to share:
"Often when I am in an airport I go to the magazine shop and look at the headlines of all the magazines offering all kinds of advice. I am interested to see what people are reading. I wonder if they really believe everything they read in those magazines.
It says that when there is no counsel, meaning no godly counsel, the people fall. W ..read more

Some very wise words from JC Ryle on parenting:
"Without the blessing of the Lord, your best efforts will do no good. He has the hearts of all men in His hands, and unless He touches the hearts of your children by His Spirit, you will wear yourself out for nothing. Therefore, water the seed you sow in their minds with unceasing prayer.
The Lord is far more willing to hear than we are to pray; far more ready to give blessings than we are to ask them--and, oh, how He love to be petitioned for our children. And I set this matter of prayer before you, as the capstone and seal of all yo ..read more

Are you indeed Christ's sheep?
Then be sure you will have many a trial.
Where would be the value of a Savior, if there were not enemies to be saved from?
Yes! You will have many a trial!
Satan has great wrath against all who have escaped his snares,
and he will bring every weapon to bear against your peace;
he will start many a doubt within your mind,
he will stir up many a vile and blasphemous imagination within the chambers of your heart,
many a horrid thought you once would have believed impossible--but still remember those words, "never perish."  ..read more

"I think the world today is upside down. Everybody seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater development and greater riches and so on. There is much suffering because there is so very little love in homes and in family life. We have no time for our children, we have no time for each other; there is no time to enjoy each other. In the home begins the disruption of the peace of the world."
~Mother Theresa

"Nothing perhaps affects man's character more than the company he keeps.
We catch the ways and tone of those we live and talk with, and unhappily get harm far more easily than good. Disease is infectious, but health is not.
Now is a professing Christian deliberately chooses to be intimate with those who are not friends of God and who cling to the world, his soul is sure to take harm. It is hard enough to serve Christ under any circumstances in such a world as this.
But it is doubly hard to do it if we are friends of the thoughtless and ungodly.

"Some want to live within the sound of Church or Chapel bell;
I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell."
~ C.T. Studd 1860-1931
There are so many people that need to hear the Gospel.
I was one of them within that yard.
Don't ever forget what God saved you from.
When we get all shiny and polished up for church.
Don't be cowardly.
Get onto the battlefield.
Remember that there is a real hurting world out there that is dying and needs to hear about Jesus.
And help snatch them from that eternal fire.
The way that *YOU* were once were saved.
If you are a yar ..read more

There's a champion in disguise among us.....it is likely this champion is not obvious to you. His deeds are courageous and life changing for those to whom he gives his life. He is disguised as a father. His humble cloak conceals his greatness, yet his deeds, in all likelihood, will form the character of the next generation. His deeds include wiping noses and changing diapers, teaching his boys to work, and his girls to guard their dignity.
His job description includes providing a wall of protection, to guard his children's hearts; yet he must lead them to greater challenges--which a ..read more

It's Father's Day weekend this coming week so we wanted to honor all the fathers who work hard and love their families and sacrifice everything for them.
We hope you enjoy this poem:
Only A Dad
Only a dad with a tired face,
Coming home from the daily race,
Bringing little of gold or fame
To show how well he has played the game;
But glad in his heart that his own rejoice
To see him come and to hear his voice.
Only a dad with a brood of four,
One of ten million men or more
Plodding along in the daily strife,
Bearing the whips and the scorns of life,
With never a whimper of pain ..read more
