In our continued efforts to make Edinburgh Festival Camping as earth-friendly and sustainable as we can, we’ve incorporated some new initiatives around the campsite.  BYO Water bottle – Drinking water is conveniently available at all taps around the site, so you can easily stay hydrated! Recycling bins: We know it sounds obvious, however we still love to encourage all guests to dispose of their waste into the separate garbage and recycling bins onsite. Just Eat Cycle has been set up to reduce the amount of road traffic in Edinburgh over the festival period. In August, there is an exponential increase of footfall in Edinburgh, that sees the population more than double. The festivals include Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.  The cycle hire scheme has stationed 500 bikes around the city’s network which is made up of 80 different hire points, with more being set up over the summer.
