Father’s Day and Philippine Independence Day falling within the same month presented our homeschooling family with a unique opportunity for a special field trip. This year, we decided to visit Malolos, Bulacan—a place rich in history and significance to our nation’s freedom. Despite it being Father’s Day, my husband, who has a heart for service, eagerly took on the task of driving us to our destinations. This trip not only celebrated him, but also paid tribute to the brave fathers of our nation who fought for our independence.
We started the day by first greeting my husband. The boys gave thei ..read more

In 1977, a vision grew from a newly founded gravel and sand company, laying the foundation for what would become a leading force in the national building sector.
As the enterprise expanded into construction and property development, it became clear that its ultimate mission was to enable every Filipino to call a home of their own. Capitalizing on its growing real estate operations, the company aimed to turn these long-held dreams into reality. The focus shifted to serving hardworking kababayans, particularly the Overseas Filipinos (OFs)—the nation’s unsung heroes.

The year 2023 has been an exceptionally busy year for me. I wrote about one of the reasons for my busyness last year in this blog post. Thus, at the start of 2024, I decided that I will take things slower this year. I want to give myself more opportunities to rest and recharge. I’ve decided that one of the best ways for me to do this is by going on a retreat.
I searched and checked possible retreat options. One of the options I came across with was the Midlife Spirituality Retreat: Growing Towards Wholeness by the Cenacle Sisters. It was an overnight retreat in Quezon City. I informed my husba ..read more

As a hands-on parent homeschooling her children, I have embraced the joys and challenges of guiding my children through their educational journey at home. Alongside these rewarding moments, life often introduces us to unexpected chapters that test our resilience and faith. One such chapter is perimenopause and menopause—a significant phase that brings its own unique challenges, especially for mothers who are homeschooling their children.
Understanding Perimenopause and Menopause
Perimenopause is the transitional period leading up to menopause, typically starting in a woman’s 40s, though it can ..read more

In my previous blog post, I shared how I lived out my #OneVerse and #OneWord for the year 2023. In this blog post, I will share what my word and Bible verse for the year are.
God revealed and confirmed with me my direction for the year through this exercise again a few days into the new year.
Choosing just a word and a Bible verse to focus on for the whole year is much easier than having too many goals or resolutions. Through this exercise or practice, I am able to focus my energy, time and resources more in living out what I believe in my heart God wants me to focus on and really live out.

One of the things that I like doing at the start of the new year is to look back into the past year and review the things that happened and what I did. Since I started choosing a word for the year or my #OneWord, I look back and review my previous year in the light of my OneWord and OneVerse. I blogged about my word for the year and verse for the year here.
I ask myself: “How did I live out my #OneWord and #OneVerse? Did I succeed in living it out?”
This year, looking back to the previous year brought me joy and fulfillment again.
Let me share with you why.

It’s been decades since I last watched a movie during the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)! I could no longer remember the last time. This year, though, there are several movies that caught my eye. The movie Rewind was one of them. This is the first Filipino/Tagalog movie that I watched with my husband in a cinema in a very long time. I think the first Filipino movie we watched together was Heneral Luna. Even at home, we only watch English movies, because that is his preference. I’m glad I convinced him to accompany me to watch this as our date on Christmas Day. Special thanks to my mom who w ..read more

It has been a whirlwind kind of adventure for me in the past months since the launch of my latest children’s book “Pasko Pa Rin” at the Manila International Book Fair in September. I wrote about it on this previous blog post.
Since then, I had been busy left and right with book promotions, fund raising for my Christmas book donation drive and outreaches around the country.
I’m so thankful and blessed that our Parish Priest, Monsignor Melchor David, allowed me to have a book launch in our parish, Mary, Mother of Good Counsel in Paranaque. This was done over one weekend during the Anticipated Ma ..read more
