Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, have issued a directive mandating their members across the country to come outfor a nationwide protest.
This is in connection to breakdown of dialogue between the ministers of education and labour, and the joint action committee of the two varsities bodies.

Following the brutalisation of Victor Tobin, the management of Rivers State University has announced the suspension of Man ‘O’ War personnel involved in the unfortunate act.
