English kitchens are on my radar of late. I love the classic and well built appeal of them. To me, what makes them right, is that they almost always include an amazing oven area, a unique mix of finishes, and some elements of rustic or natural components. Check out these great examples of what I consider to be beautiful English kitchens ..read more

I typically like to do a trends blog (whilst wishing everyone happy holidays) this time of year. While the holiday wishes are still first and foremost….HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!… I think, instead of trends, I might just focus on a few things that I find really unique, new or interesting. And yes, some trendy things are in here too of course. Here they are! (all images have links for purchasing, so go ahead and click on them ..read more

With world upheaval, it is nice to come back home. Home should always feel comforting to you. You can start with a Pinterest or Houzz board with things that say comfort to you, and then you can hone in on what it is that makes it so. Here are some things that I personally find comforting to look at. It’s important to escape at times, and for me, it is always through home decor. How do you escape ..read more

Fall decorating

I don’t typically suggest a ‘summer’ and ‘winter’ decor for my clients as that typically means having to store things for the off season, but there is something about the fall season that makes me want to go against my judgement on this. Fall is my favourite season, promising cool nights with glorious, colourful, days that are not too hot. Which makes me feel like there IS a reason to bring out those gorgeous throws and a few other small nods to the season. New tea towels or candles anyone? Here are a few inspiration photos I found that say it’s fall. Do you have a favourite season? If so, do ..read more

It’s always fun to organize a shelf. It’s small, manageable, and it can be quick. Not to mention, you may even end up purging a little. So why only one shelf? Because it’s a great place to start. It can be in your laundry room, one shelf on a large bookcase, a shelf in a kitchen or bathroom, or even a shelf you newly install to act as a nightstand or plant stand. But I warn you, you might end up doing a lot more than one shelf… it can be addictive. Here is a bit of inspiration to scroll through. And if you care to share, here in the comments, after you do one of your own shelves, please do! T ..read more

Hi and low decorating

When it comes to decorating, I always say it doesn’t matter what you pay but rather how it looks and feels. As I often mention to my clients, it’s like having an H&M dress paired with Gucci shoes. Everything looks great together and no one has to know. It’s the same for decorating. The ‘shoes’ or the ‘sofa’ of the room has to be comfortable and good quality as your body can feel its every move. The ‘dress’ or the ‘tables’ of the room can be less expensive since you don’t sit on them or ‘feel’ them quite the same. There are certain things I like to recommend you consider in the best quality ..read more
