Hi everyone, Moved to Beachwood from another state in January. Looking for affordable indoor lap swimming facility recommendations. Average swimmer, not a athlete. Not in need of general gym access as my apartment has a sufficient one. Working 9-5. Any suggestions? These are the ones I know: Beachwood School's Natatorium Pool The hour is 10am - 3pm for weekdays, not suitable for my schedule. Orange High School Pool Been there a few times, but winter indoor lap swim ($12 per session) is no longer available for booking. Veale Donnell Pool - Case Western ($29/month add-on + general gym memb ..read more

I have a friend visiting from Europe for a week in summer. What should we do? He has been to the US before (has even lived here for 6 months), but has never been to Cleveland before. What are some fun things to do now with him in Cleveland that I am overlooking? submitted by /u/labrume [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Testing Canon 75-300MM (DWNTN CLE, Fairport Harbor pier, Malek Park & Dorothy Malek Arboretum in Ash Tabula)

Some shots testing a new lens that I was given free as a gift from a friend. TL, don’t R: Less chromatic aberration occurs than I’ve accustomed myself to expecting and it has a really nice depth of field separation, smoother bokeh, and the image sharpness in terms of uniform resolution of finer details is immediately superior than the telephoto lens that I just paid nearly $300 for a few months ago despite it having image stabilizing functionality this one does not… lol submitted by /u/Paralllllax [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Graduating from college in May and offered a starting salary of 60k. No student debts or anything else. How does this hold up in the Cleveland area and maybe more specifically North East Ohio. Looking at moving near the Bedford area. Not from here so kinda concerned. submitted by /u/MeeMeeGod [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, we are hoping to move to the Cleveland area (family around) in the next couple of years. We are hoping to have a small acreage within ~45 mins of the city, and were looking for advice on good towns to look at in the area. So far, some of the houses we have seen in the Chargrin Falls/Chadron area seem really great. Some details on what we're looking for: Budget is ~$450k...but willing to go a little more if it's a dream home. Ideally 2,000 to 2,500 sqft, but we can do a lot with less. And also open to adding on someday if we have more money. Hoping to have 2 - 5 (if we're lucky) acres ..read more

Communting from Ohio City/Tremont to Concord

Hi, I am moving from Columbus to Cleveland for a job opportunity. I am a single young professional, age 25, and would like to know if living in Ohio City and commuting to Concord is worth it; the pay and job are really good; however, I looked on Google, and it said it takes 40-50 mins to communicate there. I am not set on Ohio City yet, but are there any good recommendations for places to live as a young professional near concord? If not is communicating that bad? 40 mins doesn't sound bad however traffic might make it worse or the weather submitted by /u/Open_Midnight_9371 [visit reddit] [c ..read more

I'm walking my dog and have been temporarily blinded about 3 times in the last hour. If you take your "truck" off road, switch out your headlights before you get to the city. The cops aren't enforcing shit. Just watched a cop ignore 2 cars with blinding headlights to go to a parking lot to check around for homeless people and set up for speeders. Shits fucked when cops prefer harassing the poor over admonishing the rich for their harmful idiocy. submitted by /u/Bored_Amalgamation [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

El Carnicero in Lakewood Closing

One of Lakewood's best restaurants is going to be closing on May 6th next month. I'm personally devastated, they have such a unique menu, combined with amazing drinks, and a great atmosphere. If you have not been there before I can't stress it enough, you NEED to go and experience it before they close. My personal favorites are the Barbacoa or Carne Asada with a Mezcal Sour to pair. https://www.clevescene.com/food-drink/el-carnicero-in-lakewood-to-permanently-close-44147969 submitted by /u/Zowlzzz [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
