While the list of all the write-in entries has yet to be revealed, an organized protest effort against Biden was launched in the Keystone State that urged voters upset with his handling of the Israel–Hamas war to vote against him. ELECTION 2024: FOLLOW LATEST COVERAGE Uncommitted PA, the group that spearheaded the campaign, set a goal of 40,000 “uncommitted” votes during the primary. Washington Examiner
by Kaelan Deese

Justice Neil Gorsuch on Thursday took control of the debate at the Supreme Court in a case brought by former President Donald Trump on whether he enjoys immunity from criminal prosecution. During Thursday’s arguments over Trump’s bid to have total presidential immunity against special counsel Jack Smith‘s four-count election subversion indictment, Gorsuch suggested that former presidents like Trump must have immunity or else future presidents could be targeted for prosecution and could therefore seek to pardon themselves before leaving office. “We’ve never answered whether a president can do ..read more

Health insurer cartels are liberals’ backdoor to government-run healthcare
Washington Examiner

UnitedHealth Group, the nation’s largest health insurance and services corporation for nine years in a row, could soon become the world’s first trillion-dollar healthcare company. Ironically, the fact that UnitedHealth, along with a small handful of massive corporate health services cartels, now controls much of the U.S. healthcare system suits most liberal politicians in Washington just fine. As odd as it sounds, this is likely those politicians’ new plan B for “Medicare for all.” Democrats have figured out how both to control and manipulate these soon-too-big-to-fail ..read more

The White House highlighted comments Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made earlier this week to attack former President Donald Trump‘s role in sinking the bipartisan Ukraine-border bill. Senators had unveiled a bipartisan bill to address border security while sending billions in aid to help Ukraine fight off the Russian invasion. But Republicans tanked the package, co-authored by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), at Trump’s urging. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) eventually advanced a series of separate foreign aid packages that stripped out the border provisions originally requested by Rep ..read more

Food recalls reached their highest level in 2023 since before the pandemic. According to a report from the Public Interest Research Group, 313 recalls were issued in 2023, an 8% increase from the year prior. Nearly half of these were due to undeclared allergens, while nearly one-quarter were due to outbreaks of salmonella or listeria. Teresa Murray, a consumer watchdog at the PIRG, criticized manufacturers for what seems like an easily avoidable problem. “Most problems with food should be easy to avoid. Food producers and packagers just need to focus more on cleanliness and disclose allergens ..read more

A pro-Palestinian high school walkout was canceled after local Democratic officials penned a scathing letter to the superintendent calling on the school to protect Jewish students from the intentionally “hostile and isolating environment” created by similar events. The “school approved walkout” at Eastern Regional High School was slated for Friday, the fifth day of Passover, and will be replaced with a “rally for peace” on May 20. Militant anti-Israel protests have engulfed schools around the country over the last week, resulting in many arrests. “The planned ‘Pro-Palestinian’ walkout is ..read more
