As our little one grows, the more he will become active. This means, we can have more time to play with him, may it be at home or under the sun. Although the more he becomes active, it is also a must for us mommies to ensure that he’s clean and dry throughout his playtime. And while giving him a bath after playtime is a must, we should also remember to keep his skin healthy and moisturized.
But then, how do we mommies know that we are keeping our little one’s skin healthy and moisturized? Luckily, Dr. Dilip Tripathi, Johnson and Johnson’s Senior Manager of Essential R&D gave us some ..read more

Sensitive skin in children is no easy feat. It is something parents have to deal with on a daily basis. With exposure to factors both seen and unseen, we can’t be so sure when irritants would make the little ones scratch.
Eczema or atopic dermatitis is one type of skin condition that causes dry, red patches on the skin. These are commonly found on moist folds of the skin, i.e. crook of the elbows, folds of the neck, and on infants, sometimes on their cheeks, and appear to be cracked or scaly. Adults can probably soothe themselves well, but just imagine what babies and young children have ..read more

There’s not much to like about 2020 – with the current situation overhauling our norms and keeping us at home for most of the year. But for parents, perhaps one upside is that this gave us much-needed opportunity to slow down and bond with our kids, which we otherwise would not have the time for if we are working at the office and the kids are going to school.
Spending more time with our families has allowed us, moms, to get to know them better, including their lifestyles and even eating habits. And the uncertainty of the past few months might have wreaked havoc on their routines. So here are ..read more

My second daughter is the ultimate bunso/youngest – in that she loves getting her way more than anything. And cries her heart out when she doesn’t. Now I’m the type of mom who believes that letting babies cry a bit is not harmful (hey it’s good for their lungs, right?). But I recently realized that my “crying is okay” policy might not be okay with our bunso/youngest because she’s prone to breath-holding spells and can sometimes turn blue crying. I’ve heard about such occurrences from other moms but it’s entirely different when you see your baby crying soundlessly and turning blue. So now I hav ..read more

Ano ang self-medication?

My eldest daughter recently asked me, “Mommy, what is that?” and then pointed out my bottle of conditioner.
I replied it was my hair conditioner. To which she then replied, “but what is it for?” I explained that I use it to make my hair softer.
And of course, just like any normal inquisitive kid, she had to ask, “but don’t I need that too? So my hair can be soft as well?”
And that is when I realized, I know how to bathe my daughters and how to care for their skin, but do I know how to take care of their hair? I’m a believer of the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” philosophy, so my daughters b ..read more

No parent wants a spoiled kid. And no one wants to admit that they’re raising one either. But chances are, we might be spoiling our kids without us even knowing it. So the question is, are you?
Is my child a spoiled brat?
What exactly is a spoiled kid? If we go by the 90’s standards, then our kids with their tablets and unicorn bejeweled shirts and Nintendo Switches are hands-down, considered spoiled. However, since this is a different generation altogether, they are still normal. But here are a few questions to ask yourself to determine if you are spoiling your child:
Can your child wear you ..read more

Baby bottles are a must for every baby and it’s quite normal to see them hugging or holding one at all times (except maybe if they’re exclusively breastfed). However, the expectation is that as they grow older, they’ll transition out of it and instead use sippy cups or even cups. But not all toddlers can easily let go of their bottles just like that. If your child is one of those bottle-toting kiddos, then here’s a quick guide for you.
When do I need to wean my child off the baby bottle?
Pediatricians recommend that you should start weaning your child off baby bottles when he’s around 18 month ..read more
