Overnight hours got cut drastically at my store. Went from 35.50 to 22, im scheduled 4-7-4-7 all week. I dont know how they expect us to get freight done with a skeleton crew and half the folks leave at 3am. I was told it was a new DM trying to budget and look good for higher ups. I’ve currently past the 25 year mark with this company and never moved up past grocery clerk. I could try to make it another 25 years, but not sure if it would be worth it. I’m really on the fence here and trying to figure out if I should spend my money on a 4 year university or just stick it out and just retire with a 50 year pension in the end. I'm the backup bookkeeper at my store, but my lead BK has just gone on LOA because he's going to work with the union. I'm filling in until he's back (if he comes back), im even being trained for his job at another store currently. But my store's management says I DO NOT get relief pay because lead bookkeeper is a sub dpt head or whatever (like how dairy is a sub dpt of grocery) and for lead positions like that there is no relief pay..
