One of the many perks of living in Los Angeles is the opportunity to visit a myriad of unique places. Last weekend Billy and I were invited to explore the Museum of Illusions. I’ve visited a number of pop-ups and museums in L.A., but I rate this as one of the best immersive art experiences in Hollywood. It’s divided into two fantasy realms—the 3D Illusions area and the Upside Down House. Both are designed to spark creativity, make you laugh, and give you an escape from everyday reality. Here are our highlights (and favorite optical illusion photographs) from our visit. This illusion reminded m ..read more

Styling Olive Green Cargo Pants For A Night Out In West Hollywood
A Girl in LA » Things To Do in LA

I have a not-so-good habit of buying something and letting it sit in my closet until I create the ideal outfit and find the perfect place to wear it. For instance, I purchased these olive green Pam & Gela cargo pants a while ago and forgot about them. As I was looking through my wardrobe trying to find something to wear to an event I was invited to, they jumped out at me. I paired them with a black bodysuit, black lace up stiletto booties and a faux leather moto jacket. To accessorize, I wore silver jewelry and used a metallic leather clutch which addedRead More → The post Styling Olive Gr ..read more

I originally intended on writing an article about my favorite spots in LA. As I started typing, I realized there was just so much to include that it needed to be separated into two parts. In part 1 I talked about my favorite places to shop, sip, and sleep. Following up with that, these are my recommendations on where to dine, sightsee, workout, and get pampered. Whether you‘re a local or a tourist, hopefully, this guide will help you discover something new in the City of Angels. Since moving to Los Angeles almost 8 years ago, I’ve lived on the West Side (Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, and Malibu,) Central L.A. (K-Town), and now I live in Downtown Los Angeles. Living in all these vastly different neighborhoods has allowed me the opportunity to explore their hidden gems. I thought long and hard about what my favorite spots are, and to be honest, they change quite frequently. But that’s the fascinating thing about this city. There’s constantly a new bar popping up or a new store to explore and they’ll quickly become a favorite until a new place is discovered. I created ..read more

A Haunted Hotel + Browsing My Favorite Bookstore

This past weekend when my boyfriend and I were planning our date night, I suggested that we explore a haunted hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Usually when we go out on a Friday night, we meet up with friends for drinks, or we’ll head to a trendy eatery. Being so close to Halloween, I wanted to do something festive but also avoid the typical tourist attractions. We’ve been binge-watching The Haunting of Hill House (a must see), and that definitely inspired my idea. We also stopped by my favorite bookstore located inside an old bank vault. I’m not sure how I feel about “ghosts,” andRead More → Th ..read more

I recently visited The Secret Rosé Garden, a pop-up cafe at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. I‘m obsessed with rosé and roses so as you can imagine I was ecstatic when I came across this limited-time event on Instagram and I knew I had to visit right away! This elegant installation was created to celebrate the hotels 90th anniversary, and by celebrate I mean they’ve recreated the famous Garden Lounge for our generation to enjoy. If you didn’t know, the Garden Lounge was a fixture of the hotel during the 1960s and 1970s. The Secret Rosé Garden is situated on the rooftop and features stunning viewsRe ..read more
