What kind of Arabic should I learn? That’s a normal question for a beginner Arabic student and one that we get quite often. The answer depends on what is your intention and goal for learning Arabic.
For example, if you are planning to move to a particular country, let’s say Egypt, for personal or professional reasons, and what you want is to be able to communicate while you are there, it might be wise to learn that particular country’s dialect.
On the other hand, if your main objective and goal for studying Arabic is to better understand the Quran and Ahadith, and strengthen your relatio ..read more

Knowing the Arabic language, even if it’s just at a basic level, it’s a desire found in the heart of most Muslims. But why is it? These are 5 reasons why learning Arabic is important for Muslims.
Many scholars have emphasised the importance of the Arabic language for Muslims. Their opinions range from being obligatory to know at least that which is needed to fulfil the individual obligations (fardu al-Ain) to being obligatory to know it thoroughly, especially for a seeker of knowledge in the Sacred Sciences.

What makes a real man? How is the worth of a man measured? Is it by his appearance or his wealth? Is it by his strength or his bravery?
It is said that a man from Banu Tamim, named Dhamrah ibn Dhamrah, would constantly raid the outskirts of the kingdom of al-Nuʿmān ibn Mundhir, the king of Hīrah.
Al-Nuʿmān tried to capture him for a long time but failed to do so.
He became so frustrated that he offered Dhamrah ibn Damrah, a hundred camels to enter into his obedience. And Dhamrah accepted.
And Dhamrah came to the king. And the king from what he heard from the legends and stori ..read more

Arabic is hard to learn, especially at the beginning. You might have heard that hundreds of times. But is it true? Well, yes and no. It really depends on your intention, your planning and the effort that you are willing to put in.
Do you play any sports? Perhaps you are good at football, cricket or rowing. Learning a new language is similar to learning a new sport.
We all learn to walk and run as we grow. Perhaps we also learn to swim or to ride a bicycle. This is akin to learning our native tongue; we do it organically as we grow and become masters at it.

Are you spending precious time in the morning browsing social media, being unfocused and unproductive, or worst of all…sleeping?!
Most of us are guilty of these things every now and then, but in this email, I want to talk about how to design your mornings for maximum productivity and barakah, as a student of knowledge. We will also look at how the salaf (the pious predecessors) spent their mornings.
The Prophet ﷺ made a special dua for his ummah, he said:
اللهم بارك لأمتي في بكورها
O’ Allah, give barakah for my ummah, in the early hours of the morning.
And whenever he ﷺ would send an ex ..read more
