Costco is a great place to shop. We all know that. In addition, over the years of writing this blog, I have thought of other ways to get benefit from Costco. Yes, these posts are meant to be jokes but I do think some of them make sense…((Why Costco would be a good place for a dinner party); (Living at Costco: seasonal benefits); (On a Road Trip? Stop at Costco!); (Benefits of a nearby Costco on a beach vacation: Part 1 of 2)); (Benefits of a nearby Costco on a beach vacation: Part 2 of 2)). In this post, I’d like to propose several reasons that Costco would be a good p ..read more

Spring Items at Costco
Cruising Costco

I wrote a post about seasonal products at Costco (Navigating Seasonal Items at Costco )and the best times to buy items for the different seasons. Now that it is getting to be spring (yay!!), it is time to think about and look for spring items at Costco. Summer items will be appearing soon and the items on the following list may not be available too much longer. I came across an article discussing spring items at Costco. I don’t have much experience with most of these items so I have little to add on many (and the readers say “phew…”) but will comment on some of them.  25 Best Costco ..read more

Navigating Seasonal Items at Costco
Cruising Costco

Most items are always available at Costco. You can always buy most food items (e.g., milk; yogurt; cereal; pasta), paper goods, toiletries, etc. anytime. However, some items are are only available during certain times of year because they are seasonal/weather-related or holiday-related. I found an article with some tips about seasonal shopping so I will list them and also add my own experiences. **Note: I reference several products that *may* be certified for Passover. Obviously, check before using on Passover.** 1. Know when seasonal sales begin According to the article, seasonal items become ..read more

7 Benefits of Shopping at Costco for Retired Individuals People of all ages, family sizes, etc. can shop at Costco. However, I think most people tend to associate it with families with kids who will make use of the larger quantities. It is not typically thought of as the ideal store for older individuals who likely no longer have children at home. However, this article highlights several benefits of membership for retired individuals without endless disposable income.  1. Bulk Buying Reduces Costs Costco’s bulk buying options offer retirees the opportunity to purchase larger quantiti ..read more

Protein-Rich Foods to Buy at Costco

I used to prefer sweet food to anything else. I loved big bowls of sugary cereal, lot of candy, French toast/waffles/pancakes with lots of syrup (even for dinner), and always ate baked goods and/or ice cream before bed. Before keeping kosher, I even often preferred sweet dinners at restaurants (e.g., waffles; pancakes) over savory options. Knowing that, overall, I ate a pretty balanced diet (my mom cooked and we ate dinner as a family almost every night), I did not worry too much about protein. In college,  when not eating the vegetarian option (they seemed to make about 10 versions of ro ..read more

I’d like to do more product reviews. They are often the posts that get the most traffic and I like trying new Costco items, whether food (Product Review: Foppen Hot Smoked Salmon); (Product Review: Kirkland Signature Extra Fancy Unsalted Mixed Nuts)) or non edible items (e.g., Quick Product Review: Carole Hochman Ladies’ Plush Robe). However, lately there have not been too many new things for me to try. So, until I identify more items to review, I try to keep up to date with the new items in the store. So, just as I did for February (New Items for February 2024), here are s ..read more

Costco Wish List 2

Several years ago I wrote a Costco wish-list consisting of items I would like Costco to sell (Costco Wish-Lists). I have no influence over Costco, so it will not make a difference, but I was thinking about some foods I’ve started or continue to want. I don’t expect readers care about what I want. However, maybe someone with influence will reads this post (hey, I can dream…) In addition, I like to write about my favorite foods. As I was writing this post, I realized how much of what I eat is from Costco! I really am satisfied with most of my meals being largely based on Costco fo ..read more
