Sarah wrote her master’s thesis about the history of our company Lefèvre Interiors, titled ‘Binnenkijken bij Lefèvre Interiors’ (A look inside Lefèvre Interiors). In her thesis Sarah goes back to the origins of our company, which was founded by my great-grandfather August Lefèvre in 1890, and talks about the development of the company during the following generations, under the lead ..read more

Hello my friends and readers, Are you finished decking the halls yet? Since it is a hectic time in our business towards the end of the year, I’m not completely finished with all Christmas decorations yet. But I already wanted to share with you some pictures of our home decor so far.   This year the Christmas tree is put up in our living room. The tree is adorned with only lights and bows. Living room mantel decoration. Nobilis, moss branches and pine cones. What would Christmas be without candle light? Small Christmas decor touches everywhere. A large vase filled with asparagus on ..read more

The beauty in Autumn

Hello my readers and friends, Do you like the autumn season? Yes, it is always sad that summer is over, warm weather and greenery coming to an end, leaves fall off of trees and leave them bare and forlorn looking. And yet there is so much beauty to see in this autumn season. Walking in our garden, I so enjoy the beautiful colors of the leaves and the rustling of them when I walk along our garden path. A beautiful autumn scenery. There’s nothing prettier than the leaves changing colors. Green leaves turn yellow and brown. A beautiful, subdued, fall color palette.   “Autumn is the hardest ..read more

Hello my friends and readers, Today I would like to share with you an exceptional project, realized by our company Lefèvre Interiors. Months ago our clients told us about a beautiful antique piece they found at an antique dealer and which they really wanted to see integrated into their home. This exceptional, polychrome painted, wooden piece originated from an Italian church or chapel, dating back to the 17th century, probably once served as a choir fence, which closed off the choir from the nave. So Lefèvre Interiors was given the assignment to integrate this beautiful piece into their interi ..read more

Hello dear readers and friends, I realized I didn’t share many pictures of our garden this year. Normally I do share several pictures of our garden in July, but because we were unlucky with the weather here in Belgium, I didn’t take that much pictures this year. We are already mid-August, but fortunately sunny days are expected! Personally, I have always loved the month of August. The light becomes different and one feels a fullness of energy. To me, summer is delightful in August. It is mid-summer and nature is in full bloom. August is harvest month, and there are so plenty of apples and pear ..read more

If you ever plan a visit to the city of Antwerp, you should definitely take a walk in the “Vlaeykensgang” (or Vlaaikensgang). Stepping through the gate at the Oude Koornmarkt n°16, ending up in this picturesque, hidden medieval alley, you will be transported back in time, to the 16th century. The Vlaeykensgang, dating from the year 1591, is a unique small cobblestone street in the center of Antwerp, hidden between 2 busy streets and close to the Cathedral. Behind the small entrance, you step into a passage with its quiet courtyards. The alley consists of 11 authentic back houses where everythi ..read more

Welcome Summer

Time flies! Hard to believe that summer is already here! We have been spoiled with beautiful summer weather lately! All plants, trees and hedges have gotten lots of sun! And suddenly we were treated to an explosion of roses! It has been so hot in recent days that we have not yet been able to prune the hedges. Our ‘Souvenir de la Malmaison’ roses are exploding. Their color goes from white to cream, blushed with pink. This is a rose that is excellent in warmer zones. The old French Bourbon roses, repeat flowering roses and grown for their fragrance, have always been my favorites. This is ..read more

At this time of year my hands are itching to start decorating for summer! What about you? Every year again, as the previous weekend, I started to style my sister’s home for summer. And I like to share with you some of the pictures I took of the flower arrangements. Now that everything in nature is so beautifully green, I like to use a lot of greenery in the house as I did here in the orangery. Even only a few twigs from the trees in your garden put in a vase, can do. As seen here on the table.   A mix of greenery with campanula and clematis.   You don’t always need to make large b ..read more
