Ad in collaboration with LSA International Tis the season for Christmas styling! LSA International recently got in touch about partnering on a festive styling post featuring an item from the new Tatra collection. I jumped to the chance as i’ve always loved their homeware items and I love the intricate detailing on the wood of this new collection which was actually 2018 iF Design Award winner. Tatra is inspired by folk traditions of woodworking so each product with wood is adorned with beautiful intricate angular detailing. The glass also has the same angular pattern, which has a very luxurio ..read more

The funny little thing about blogging and Instagram is that you meet a lot of people online, get to peek inside of their homes and observe what inspires them but most of the time you will never get to meet them in person. Recently,  I was lucky enough to meet Christina Thaisen at MK Design’s annual Christmas workshop at Case Furniture in London. Founder of independent online shop Nabo, Christina has the most incredible home in London, filled with original danish designs, artwork, ceramics, lighting and textiles. Every single piece in her home is perfectly curated and functional - an etho ..read more

Creating a cosy garden deck in a few simple steps
Le Petit Fika

We've been living in our East London home for just about a year now, and it's taken me a year to get around to sorting out the garden. When we first moved in, one of the things I was the most excited about what finally having an outdoor space - bistro night could actually be spent in a real outdoor space, instead of pushing our table against the open window of our old flat. We moved in in August 2017 and August quickly turned into September, and then it seems that winter came around really quickly so we didn't get to enjoy much time outdoors. That, and in January our back fence blew down with ..read more

Relaxed bedding by Bedfolk

Ad in collaboration with Bedfolk Getting into a bed with fresh sheets is a feeling that is hard to beat. For me, that's every Sunday late morning after the house has been cleaned and the bed stripped. A feeling that I look forward to every week.  I've always been a sucker for good quality bedding and for the longest time swore by Egyptian Cotton with 200+ thread count. The issue here is that to get good quality Egyptian Cotton you have to spent quite a bit of money, so after the first few sets I started to look for alternatives. For the past year we have been sleeping with only linen shee ..read more

Hallway Makeover pt.2: The Reveal
Le Petit Fika

Sponsored post in collaboration with Cloudberry Living and Amara A while ago I posted my plans for a hallway makeover. It had been a while since I was getting itchy feet about changing things around in the hallway. It's not that there was anything wrong with the Ikea shoe cabinet we had there, it was white and simple so it was fine, but for me that's just it. It was fine. As the first room that you walk into the house, I wanted to create an inviting space. I didn't want it to feel like a typical hallway, full of shoes and bags that are just thrown around. As I mentioned in my plans ..read more

Home Stories: Minimal and airy Bauhaus apartment in Sweden's Gothenburg

One of the biggest things that I love about Scandinavia (and there are a lot) is the way everyone embraces light. That makes a lot of sense given how how half of the year is dark, but I love how they don't shy away from light in their homes, favouring tall ceilings and large windows with minimal cover like you do in the UK (cue blinds and curtains galore). In my terraced house, the living and dining room has a tendency to be quite dark due to it being north facing. Despite having tall ceilings and large windows myself, I find myself wishing it was brighter still. This beautiful 1930's and Bau ..read more

Home Stories: The new Menu Space in New York

I'm very excited that MENU have just opened another space, and this time in New York. Whilst I don't live in New York, it's my favourite city and I definitely plan on visiting again very soon, and now this will be on the top of my list. After recently opening a showroom space in trendy Shoreditch in East London, it's makes so much sense for it's new US branch to open in the cool and fashionable neighbourhood of SoHo in lower Manhattan.  Firstly, what I love about this space is that it is actually lived in. Just like the London showroom, the SoHo version also doubles up as the home for th ..read more

Introducing: My kotty - stylish and minimal cat accessories

Sponsored post in collaboration with My Kotty When I first got my Siberian Claude, i'm not going to lie I was a little nervous about how many extra 'things' I would have in the house. Let's be honest, cat trees are rarely minimal and scratching posts are often not effective meaning that your sofa gets the short end of the stick. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered I didn't have to compromise my minimal home for kitten cuddles... A few months ago, I discovered the Poland based cat furniture company My Kotty. Firstly, I never knew that there were such things at well designed cat furnit ..read more
