I got a treat for you today. I am taking you to Amsterdam, to a place I have been wanting to visit for a while. I have seen it come up on multiple occasions while searching for inspiration. Let’s just Enter the Loft: A showroom setup as a home, combining interior design which also functions as a curated shop. A smaller heatwave has hit Denmark this week. Not that it is anything like temperatures in LA, but I am not complaining. The other day was also the longest day of the year, with daylight for 17h32m. I am really thinking of sleeping on the balcony this week. I am going to make the most of a summer in Denmark this year and feature a bunch of Danish homes and create inspiration for all of you who will visit with guides to Copenhagen. Today, we are heading to Fredericia, Denmark to visit Anne and her family of 5 in the massive 1929 villa. Anne is a true master of DIY, there is always at least one ..read more

Sending you all some nice sunny weather from Copenhagen today. A heatwave hit us this week with temperatures hitting 25+ degrees (that’s in the high 70s for you Americans). This home is really something out of the ordinary, in fact it was built as a chapel in the late 1800s by Gustaf Wickman. A few years ago, Långbro chapel, as it is called, got a fantastic transformation thanks to the architect Andreas Martin-Löf and the current owner’s feeling, drive and good taste. Now, the chapel is a villa of 170 square meters of living space located in a lush little park. Obviously, the chapel’s huge ch ..read more

Amazing Boho Loft Vibes in East London

I’ve always dreamt of living in a loft, you know one of those with tall windows, concrete elements and exposed brick walls. Guillaume and Sarah, or as I know them on Instagram @concrete.ceiling moved into one just like that one year ago, and all though they still have a 20-year-old kitchen and bathroom to remodel, their loft is so cool. Guillaume is French and Sarah was born in Morocco, they both lived in Paris, where they met 5 years ago, but needed change of scenery and moved to London about 2 years ago. They fell in love with the mixed/artsy/boho vibe of East London – and I don’t blame the ..read more

Kitchen of the Week: A Modern Light-Filled “Bringing the Forest Inside” Kitchen

As I said yesterday, I don’t want to be silent and I certainly don’t want my blog to go silent either. There is still so much more to be said, but I really do feel that sometimes we need to ease into something not quite as heavy as politics – and this is still a platform for my simple, bright and Scandinavian interior world. With that in mind, let’s dive into a green kitchen in commune with nature. Nature, the lake and the many tree surrounding the house became the inspiration for this modern and very functional kitchen – in all green. Not just any green. A green that matches the forest just ..read more

I almost feel ashamed saying it, but I am actually really missing airplane food. JK. I miss finding my seat on a plane with an exotic destination upon arrival. I know many of you would love Denmark and Copenhagen to be your exotic destination. It is not the worst place to be on earth, but when you live here the sight of having to spend the entire summer here, is just not as appealing. Today, I moved my office out to a corner on my balcony. With a bit of lounge music drowning out the playing kids on the street and the sun on my face, I can almost imagine myself poolside at Villa Mandra, a new ..read more

A Curvy Aussie Penthouse in Queensland

If there is one thing, I have learnt being quarantined it’s that less is definitely more when it comes to décor. I have sold, recycled and given away so much that my mom now is beginning to say things like: “you have nothing left!”. Who would have thought that this design hoarder would suddenly become a minimalist? No chance I am going all cold and all white thats for sure. Speaking of minimalistic décor. Penthouse M is a minimal penthouse interior located in Queensland, Australia, designed by CJH Studio. Built in the late 1980s and has remained relatively untouched ever since. Until now, at ..read more

I am back at the desk after a weekend doing a whole lot of nothing. I have a few cool things planned for you guys this week, starting right now with a sneak peek inside the stunning home of Caroline Storm. Caroline and her family moved into her new home just before Christmas. The tall black windows and the curvy ceiling are just incredible, giving the space a cool loft-look. No doubt Caroline has an impeccable taste and she is really utilizing the high ceilings with great massive art pieces and a bookshelf. Throughout everything is kept very neutral and simple, with only a few colors sneaking ..read more

After many years in London, the Danish-Swedish couple decided to move back home to Scandinavia. Their choice of residence fell on the trendy Frederiksberg district in Copenhagen and a breath-taking apartment from the last turn of the century. Here, along with Nordiska Kök, they created a classic shaker kitchen with a Scandinavian touch. The same flair of craftmanship, clean lines and quality with which the shaker movement has become synonymous; can be found in the spacious kitchen, that feels both contemporary and minimalistic, yet classic and timeless. The discreet tones of gray and white en ..read more

If you are also all in on architectural 1960s these days, you are going to love today’s post. Since 2017, one of Denmark’s best-known male fashionistas Kim Grenaa, have work on renovating the yellow stoned house drawn by Holger Tangaa in 1963 – and it is actually ready for a new owner. Throughout the house Kim has modernized in a modern and minimalistic style with respect for the 60s spirit of the house. Classic elements like the herringbone wooden floors and the original fireplace gives the very modern and Nordic style edge. While the house is kept very neutral, I love the color twist in the ..read more
