AUGUSTA- Sammy Calder had a team-high 15 points, including a go ahead basket with 2:00 left in the fourth quarter on Saturday night in leading the Monmouth Academy Mustangs to a 52-50 win over Mt. View in the Class C Boys Basketball State Championship game at the Augusta Civic Center. It is the first goldball for Monmouth, in their first ever appearance in a boys basketball state game.

AUGUSTA- Cally Gudroe, Mazie Peach, and Hannah Dean all scored in double figures on Saturday night, leading the Dexter Tigers to their first Class C Girls Basketball State Championship in 18 years with a 48-41 win over Hall-Dale at the Augusta Civic Center.
The first eight minutes both teams held a lead, and it ended as a draw 13-13. Dean and Peach each poured in six points in the first quarter for Dexter. Jade Graham had five of the 13 for Hall-Dale. AUGUSTA- The Bangor Christian Patriots used another solid defensive effort, and outscored Valley 23-9 in the third quarter on Saturday afternoon to win the Class D Boys Basketball State Championship 44-31 at the Augusta Civic Center.
It was a slow paced first half with not alot of offense. Bangor Christian had the biggest lead of five on a three-pointer by Jalen Reed at 12-7 in the second quarter, before a pair of three-pointers from Harry Louis pushed Valley in front 13-12 at the break. AUGUSTA- The Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors would go on a 20-2 run after trailing by 14 in the second quarter, and Cami Shields scored 20 of her game-high 28 points in the second half as they won their third straight Class D State Championship with a 60-42 victory over Valley on Saturday afternoon at the Augusta Civic Center.

BANGOR- In a rematch of the 2023 Class B Boys Basketball State Title game, the Orono Red Riots would never trail and earned their second consecutive goldball with a 56-48 win over Oceanside at the Cross Insurance Center. The back to back seasons of winning the state title is the first time the boys have done that in 62 years (1961, 1962).

BANGOR- The Oceanside Mariners used a 12-0 first quarter run and built a 15 point halftime lead on Friday night, holding off Old Town 33-25 in a Maine Principals’ Association Class B Girls Basketball State Championship game at the Cross Insurance Center.
It was back and forth early on with three lead changes, before a basket by Sophia Daggett for Oceanside would push them ahead for good and began a substantial run.
