In recent years the best photo editing software, like Photoshop and Lightroom have benefitted from a range of new AI-powered tools. In partnership with Datacolor. There is a lot to think about when taking and editing photos, and it’s all too easy for both stills and video photographers to forget a crucial part of the process – effective colour management, or colour representation. Put simply, this is all about ensuring that the colours are consistent in any body of work you produce. This becomes even more important if you are shooting for a client – a company may have an in-house colour style they want you to follow when shooting their products, for example, or a wedding couple might have given you a mood board as they wan ..read more

Amateur Photographer Magazine
by Andy Westlake

While full-frame mirrorless cameras now dominate the market, there’s no getting away from the fact that they tend to be relatively large, bulky, and expensive. The new Panasonic Lumix S9 is Panasonic’s attempt to address this, by making a more compact and affordable alternative to its SLR-shaped Lumix S5II. But will this be enough for it to count as one of the best Panasonic cameras yet? Panasonic Lumix S9 at a glance: £1499 body-only £1799 with 20-60mm lens £2249 with 28-200mm lens 24.2MP full-frame sensor ISO 100-51,200 (standard) Up to 30fps continuous shooting Video recording at 6K 30fps ..read more

Panasonic has announced the development of its smallest full-frame zoom to date, the Lumix S 18-40mm F4.5-6.3. With an ultra-compact retractable design, it’s clearly designed to be the Lumix S9’s primary kit zoom, so it’s a real shame that it won’t be immediately available to buy with the camera. The firm claims it will be ideal for both photo and video use, with the wideangle to standard focal-length range encompassing such subjects as landscapes, architecture, and street photography. There’s little detail around specifications yet, but confirmed features include a minimum focusing distance o ..read more

Amateur Photographer Magazine

Amateur Photographer verdictA solid all-rounder superzoom, especially well performing when paired with a lower-resolution camera.
