Taim Mediterranean Kitchen, a fast-casual Mediterranean concept, has closed its Reston location just four months after its grand opening, FFXNow reported. Taim is a New York-based chain that specializes in falafel, pita sandwiches, and grain bowls. The Reston location, at 11692 Plaza American Dr., Reston, opened in December 2023.   The company has not yet officially announced the closure, but the business is listed as permanently closed on Google. Grocery chain Lidl plans to open in the spot where Kohl’s now is on Centreville Road in Herndon, the Washington Business Journal reports. When Kohl’s will close and the discount grocer will open are not yet known. Lidl will sublease part of the 105,700-square-foot building at 2100 Centreville Rd. to two other tenants, the Washington Business Journal said. Last year, Lidl opened about a half dozen DMV stores. Valetta Bertrand-Baker’s parents, Alice Bertrand and Glenn Bertrand Sr., were looking for a place to retire after 45 years in the construction business. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the circumstances surrounding a near collision between two jets taking off at Reagan National Airport on Thursday morning, prompting air traffic controllers to begin yelling for the pilots to stop. A Lorton man who brought a woman who had been shot to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital has been charged with her murder, Fairfax County police said. Huy Tien Nguyen, 47, faces charges of second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the deadly shooting of his girlfriend, Alison “Kate” LaPorta, 38, of Lorton. Fairfax County police said Nguyen brought LaPorta to the hospital at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday. She was then taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. A Fairfax County school bus struck the relatively new Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles building on Braddock Road Thursday morning when another driver failed to yield, forcing the bus driver to swerve off the road, Fairfax County police said.
